Should the "Death Penalty" be illegal, or legal?

Well in some places the death penalty is legal, some may not.
Do you believe that it should be legal, or illegal? In all states, and countries.

I personally believe it should be illegal, I mean killing them is only setting them free, away from the time they deserve to serve, in prison.

 

Legal, but only for VERY terrible things.

 

Prison's need the room. Kill them, anyone who is charged to the death penalty fully deserves it. It's not setting them free, trust me that's not what most people in that situation want. From an outside view it might seem better, but when you are sentenced to death, I'm guessing, is the worst feeling you can possibly feel.

I mean, when's the last time you've seen an attorney fighting for their client to get the death penalty - it's always for life in prison.

 

This should really be in the something for all section as its a subject that bears alot of debate.

But to be frank there are people that need to die - and there are people that can come through rehab and be so different.

 

Aside from the dozens of innocent people on death row.
Also, the average cost of executing somebody is higher than keeping them in prison for life.

 

Well, in my eyes the legal justice system needs to smarten up. Many people get away with murder, along with many charged with serious crimes which they are innocent for. The death penalty should be legalized in more states i believe.

 

Death Penalty is only for punishing. Come on people, the important thing is preventing murders 'before' they are commited. Taking your revenge won't get you anywhere, it will not decrease the crime rate. And researches made on this subject support this idea.

You are saying "why don't we kill criminals"
And I am saying "why would we? why would we do it, if it doesn't discourage people from acting crimes?"

 

I say if you kill someone, you should die.

Maybe beat them half to death but taking a life, I think, is the lowest anyone can go.

 

Eye for an eye.
Death for a rapist.

 

As Finn said, an Eye for an Eye on a rapist would be for the said rapist to be raped himself. However, I doubt this would be hardly fair at ALL.


Rapists should be locked in jail with other rapists for the rest of their lives.


Only the people who have committed an atrocity such as murder, should be murdered in the name of the death penalty.

 

And you can prove there are dozens that are innocent, odd.

The main problem in the U.S. right now is the SPACE in prisons, killing them would clear up space.

 

I doubt much of the law abiding, tax paying citizens want to pay for room, board, and food for a murderer.

If someone decapitates someone, the same should be done to them.

 

how about something along the lines of fighting for their life? Murderers put in building with a bunch of murderers. They start on the bottom floor. The first one to the top of the building wins their life. Along the way there are various weapons starting with knives and advancing to guns.

I would watch that shit.

If that was televised it would be the most watched show in the history of ever.

 

Illegal. I don't think it's right to kill people, especially when they could be doing so much good for themselves in prison, and it's just letting them off.
