Question about RWT that just went down

Hey, y'all. Kind've freaking out. Hopefully, someone can put my mind to ease, or at least tell me it is what it is.

I just bought about 20m in lumby bank when I noticed some guy said add me after the trade was done. I added him to see what was up and he said something about having to trade my money back for some sort of authentication as Jagex are doing IP chain bains or some bs, and If I don't i'll get charged $150 for something. I know I should've ignored this but when I saw the ban I kind've freaked out.

I talked to the guy who did the trade and he said no this is a scammer and ignore. The problem is I replied to him and said "ok hold on". After I realized it was bogus I said, "sorry, idk what you're talking about. you have the wrong person." but I'm worried the damage may be done.

1. does he have to report me for this to get looked into?
2. do you think he did? do scammers/botters report other people in your opinion? or does it draw heat to themselves as well so they don't?

Uh oh, yea there's a 100% chance you'll be banned and the police will likely be contacted. Rwt - especially such a high amount, is taken very seriously

 

I don't think Jagex will care about the amount if its 10m or 500m, its still RWT to them. that's why I'm freaking out

 

This is actually a pretty smart scam.

People know the well known buying places: lumby bank, lumby church, varrock banks, sometimes even general store in varrock.

So they see you trading someone and add you, they take a wild guess that you bought money.

obviously anything the guy said is bullshit and just ignore it especially that low amount, if it was 1-10b then we are talking...

 

nothing to worry about.
