Would you take a bullet for a stranger?

Yes.. I'd probably have regrets about taking a bullet for someone with down-syndrome, or a 300 pound woman... but I'd do it..

There's a difference between "looking to be noble"

    and being noble.

No one is noble anymore. That's why society is screwed up. In reality, most people would be paralyzed by fear in a situation where you could actually try to take a bullet, most likely a hold up situation. And taking the bullet would probably result in you dying and the stranger getting shot after they shot you.

There are plenty of noble people in the world.

Yes, people would be paralyzed in fear, but there's usually always that one person who stands up against that fear.

If you notice, in a hold-up.. they don't want to kill anybody, and the criminals are severely outnumbered..

That's one less bullet for someone else.

Well you must hate your life, but I like mine, so no, I wouldn't take a bullet for a stranger, or hardly anyone I know, for that matter.

Or the gun could be locked up by the police, therefore not being used / used for the "greater good"

Noble has lost its meaning. Nobility can be described as any number of small things. I should have said, "There is no nobility left in the world". Being overly noble often ties in with blind stupidity, which is the case here. Being overly noble clouds your judgment and leads you to do things that may be temporarily ethical, or make you look heroic, but often benefit no one permanently. Noble decisions also often clash against logical decisions.

Often in hold ups people are killed or severely injured; you've been watching too many movies. If they are going to fire a bullet at someone, then that person has done something that (in the criminal's eyes) merits being shot; for example they may have attempted to run. Not only do you now merit being shot, the person still merits being shot, and therefore you both take bullets. Its not one less bullet for the person, they still get the bullet in the end. You just get a complimentary one too.

That's a dumb idea. If you get shot and died, you aint gonna get with her then, you'll just have to watch enviously in heaven as she screws a lot of other guys.

Trick is, when shes shot, she can't stop you from doing anything to her ;). So theres your chance!!
