Why Does Vista Suck?

The only bad thing about vista is how vulnerable it is to viruses. But its ight with AVG

 

probably becouse its slower, atleast for some people (it has more programming etc wich makes it slower to load all that shit) then for all games you will need ½ the stuff you machine has (eg. Xp needs 1g ram and 2Ghz processor, Vista needs 1.5g ram and 3Ghz processor)

We had to get a new computer after our old one fried. Within an hour of using Vista, I wanted to throw it out the window. Hard to navigate, almost all my old computer games are incompatible with vista, and so on. Also, I can't run Limewire on it. Would trade almost anything to get XP back.

Actually that only worked once for me, and before you ask, yes I am the Admin.

 

I got vista on my computer around 3 weeks after it came out. I did find that not many things were vista compatible at first, but that's no surprise.

 

I hate that UAC system which asks always "are you sure you...", that's why I'm using linux now...

 

yeah the UAC is so pathetic, you can turn it off though

it leaks memory worse than a cup without sides leaking water.

but, oh well.. we'll have to live with it, see'ing as windows 7 (new os they are working on) is pratically the same as vista.. with a few improvements, and a few dissapointments

This means you YOURSELF cannot adapt. It's not that hard to learn a few extra features is it?

So stick another stick of RAM in it. RAM's cheap, and it's not hard to install.

The 'Popups' are for security. They can easily be turned off through the control panel.

Depends on what you have on your PC. Same with XP there. Now you're just looking for faults in Windows in general.

You can turn auto-update off you know?

You have no points to say why vista is good, only reasons my points r bad. Go and find some reasons why vista is good. i bet you can not.

 

I hate vista. Still not perfect for me. And like CP said, the security is nothing but a pain in the arse. Not to mention program compatibility. I had to fix my friend's vista all the time, everytime I ask him to put some programs he needed etc.

 

Vista doesn't suck, it can be frusturating at first to use if you're a xp user, but after a while it becomes like your best freind
It's user friendly, and it just looks better to be honest.

 

I hate the looks, is the most non user friendly thing I have ever used, and it is the most annoying thing ever, but yes, I kinda got used to it.

 

For many reasons.

1: It's ugly. If I wanted prettyness I'd use Linux+Compiz, which I do.
2: It's slow. My PC has 4Gb of RAM and a Core-2 Quad @ 2.7Ghz, Vista operates like XP did on my previous (Sucky) computer.
3: It's a bugger to get rid of. I had to partition the hard-disk with Ubuntu, delete the Vista partition, delete the Ubuntu partition, then install Windows XP.
4: It takes up a load of space. Even though I do have 1Tb of storage, I don't want to lose 10Gb or so on a stupid piece of crap that doesn't work properly.
5: It's not compatiable with older games. Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 didn't work.

In conclusion, It's better to upgrade to XP or Linux.

So that concludes my rant. Feel free to flame my opinions.

Well it's a giant space and memory hog. Uses a lot of video power to. Also to one of the first posts on the first page. It's not better than Linux. It's just user-friendly and has a pretty GUI. Linux.. Untoppable. Maybe Solaris, but that's to beast of an operating system for most users.

 

UAC, bugs, compatibility issues, resource hog, etc. Not user friendly in my book.

 

1. Uses up more memory to run; bad for gaming. So let's say a game requires 1GB RAM on XP, it'll require more on Vista.
2. You're not really an administrator. You can't even delete Internet Explorer for god's sake!
3. Too much security shit. It's real good for idiots.

Etc...etc...Compatibility Issues.. etc.. etc.. Gayness... The fact that it took 5 years to make.. etc.. Gayness... etc.. fail.
