Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

I am pretty sure that all plants need both, they just need a large amount less O2, so they make more O2 than they use.

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

We will not ever run out of oxygen, it can be mad from multiple different things. Such as removing it from water if we needed to

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

We will NEVER run out. It would never get to a stage where all trees are cut down, because the governments wouldn't accept it.

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

This is almost IMPOSSIBLE, unless we were to destroy all plant life, but then, we can still do this 'manually'.

Oh, and also... at everyone saying if we cut down all of the trees there will be no oxygen, we get the vast majority of our oxygen from algae.

Governments can't do shit. 1000's of acres of the Amazon river are being cut down RIGHT NOW, the governments disagree, but can they prevent it?
People like you look up to the Government for everything, you need to be independent, not just shrug off the problem.

See the 'O2' in CO2? Thats the oxygen plants need.

    Nothing is impossible.

The ocean is currently being polluted, day by day. At this rate, there could be no oceans left in a few 100-1000 years?

    See this?

    Plastic, in the ocean.

There is also a plastic 'soup' twice the size of Texas, floating around in the Pacific Ocean.

Unless you manage to destroy every tree on the planet, it's unlikely.

algae makes more oxygen than trees, and theres more and more forming without much being removed, so no, we will never run out of oxygen, its more likely for the world to end first

You do realize that the government is responsible for most deforestation, right? If the forests were private property, people would have an incentive to grow the trees back - not just cut and run.

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

If the oxygen were to run out, it would be long after the Earth is gone, so it will not really effect us.

If we were ever running out of oxygen, we would dig huuge holes on these hundreds of millions of year old mountains which storage 3x as many oxygen as we have now.
    I'm not leing.

That makes no sense, idiot. The oxygen is on the earth, hence, if the earth were to go, so would the oxygen -.-

    OMGEE 4srs?

There is no oxygen buried inside million year old mountains.

    Shredderbeam is right.

It's EXTREMELY unlikely, but millions-billions of years from now, it could happen. Defiantely not in our lifetime though.

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

I think it's more of where you live. Like in China, the air is really bad quality, and it's hard to not get good air and not be sick etc.

where as, in lets say, Australia. the air is good and there are many trees around.

Logically, if you think about what you said, we shouldn't have enough oxygen. but the world has been around for so long now, i don't think it will end soon, and that gives us time for some invention to be used to supply more.

The Canadians found a machine that can take in Co2 and make Oxygen...
So we fixed this problem if it ever was one........

What I'm trying to put across is that if the oxygen were to run out, it would take a long time, but the Earth would die first (Along with the oxygen).

Oxygen - Will It Run Out?

No. That would be hard. To break down a molecule you would have to add energy to it so you can break the bonds. And you would need massive amounts of energy to do that. Nuclear fusion, fission takes and releases a great deal of energy. Perfect example, the bomb that killed so many Japs(hahahaha, dumbass Japs got killed. that's what you get for fucking people up in the Philippines and America bitches!). They took Uranimum 235 and bombarded it with a neutron and made...Tellerium-137 + Zirconium 97 and 2 neutrons. Or Barium-142 + Krypton-91(yes it's an element if you didn't know) + 3 neutrons. So that'd be fairly hard to do in a way that's friendly to the environment, and to the pockets.

And there's too much oxygen around us. Mostly bonded to others but we won't run out of it. Specially with the ozone depletion. which is bad in anycase, but just to give you an example of why it'd be hard for us to run out of oxygen...everyone ozone could be made into breathable oxygen by adding chlorine to it.
