IRCwut.

I've had this for a few days now, and I wonder if I could get it fixed.

It keeps saying that Tez is not my name. (it is) and it just disconnects me and connects me continuously. I can't join channels or anything.

 

/msg nickserv identify yourpassword

 

Doesn't work. It just identifies, then I can't join any channels and just disconnects and connects me. And I'm connected to the internet.

 

Re-install mIRC.

 

Try to change your nick and join #irchelp and ask them, they would know.

 

Already tried that.

I tried changing my nick, but that doesn't help. I'm unable to connect to #irchelp because it just doesn't open a new window.

 

Try using an online client.

 

I think someone on mIRC forums had the same problem, let me go check and see if they figured it out.

I would say try using RemoteIRC and see if it does the same thing, you might have a crappy internet connection.

 

It's not my connection. I can play Cs: Source at the same time with friends and I'm not having a problem.

Sounds like a problem with mIRC.
Are you using the latest version?

 

Tez, I would recommend first trying a different client, because although you have a internet connection, your client may not be able to connect to it. Once you have connected. The reason you are getting a Nickname allready in use, is because you are connecting to the server, then disconnecting due to client problems, although this signs you out of the server, the nickname will remain virtual until nickserv identifies your ping is dead.

 

Have you tried ghosting your nick?
