Marijuana, Cannabis, weed, sticky icky

It should be legalized. It would save the government a lot of time, and tax-payers money. Its bullshit that they can arrest you for merely carrying a plant.

 

Me and my best friend smoke 1/4 ounce most weekends. We saved for a nice bong, use ice water and pack the bowl. Lounging round his living room, few people round, all taking hits. It's amazing, so much less intoxicating than alcohol, and so much better.

Legalize that shit!

There is no logical reason it should be illegal. As some people have stated, its probably the easiest thing to get... your mother probably sells weed and you don't even know about it. Having a law against something easier to get then cigarets is wrong. Personally I don't smoke weed, but I have no problem with it being legal. It would defiantly help the horrible, [never to be stable again] economy were in right now. Everyone who thinks its a great idea for it to be illegal needs to get their head out of their ass and realize that its pointless..

The fact that weed DOESN'T kill isn't entirely true. It could kill you, that is if you smoke it 24/7. Regardless if your an addict you could do damage to yourself - running in front of a train thinking your superman -

You do know that one of the main reasons that cannabis is illegal is because the people who smoke pot are far more likely to try doing other more serious drugs, like cocaine and such...

 

Okay, cocaine, heroin, crack, meth. Very unhealthy to use right?

Cannabis, in comparison to using those other drugs isn't any where near as bad for your health.

Take a person who has used cocaine for 2 years, there addicted and have to use every day. Take away the cocaine and give them weed, i think it will help them drop the substance.

If weed became legal i think people would drop other disgusting drugs and use cannabis.

People who a lot of pot for a long time actually start having issues with color coordination

For example, a man my aunt knew actually painted his house in purple, pink, red, and other bright colors because he thought that looked right, when rather it looked like a blind person grabbed 15 different buckets of paint and splashed them everywhere.

Also, people seriously addicted to narcotics like Cocaine, Heroine, Methamphetamine, etc. actually have a sort of immunity to weaker drugs like marijuana. This is because it takes a much more powerful substance to stimulate the pleasure center in your brain at the point of a serious addiction. That's why druggies always step up the drug ladder (start with drinking benadryl, and end with taking Oxy Cotton or Crystal Meth).

Long term does cause changes.... but not like cocaine or other drugs would.

I'm not sure if tolerance has anything to do with cocaine users etc because of how weed makes you high. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is what causes the high. Over time your tolerance to marijuana goes down and you will indeed get high again.

 

Alright, let me explain a few things. You should already know them though.

This has a lot to do with growing old. Your body reproduces millions of cells in your body every day, and unless those cells are completely removed (such as an amputee who has lost his arm) then the cells will just reproduce over time. However, much like re-recording a video tape, the quality becomes worse every time they are copied. The cells become even a tiny amount inferior to the previous one it was copied from, and this is why our bodies become frail with age.

The brain is no exception to this part of nature either. Marijuana kills brain cells. Sure, those cells will reproduce, but the long and short of it is, the cells that replace the dead ones will be inferior. Frequent use of marijuana or indeed any illicit drug WILL kill brain cells to the point where the reproduced cells are, to put simply, retarded. Some symptoms of common marijuana smokers involve being depressed, slow reaction times, lack of motivation, lack of self-esteem, a temporary inability to think properly, and more chronic (long-term) symptoms can involve brain damage, schizophrenia and variable forms of psychosis.

For those who say Marijuana isn't dangerous, you are wrong. Most of you who post haven't even done any research I'm betting my money on. Most of you will just say "It should be legal" because you like it. I'm sure if tobacco was banned the tobacco smokers would say exactly the same thing.

Also, with regards to Tobacco, they simply can NOT make it illegal in a simple bill. I'm unsure of how the American government works, but even in Australia, if the leading party outlawed tobacco, let's just say they'd be out of office pretty soon (considering the amount of the population who DO smoke tobacco). Banning tobacco is a slow process, and in countries like Australia, progress is being made - but slow progress. It is not just as simple as banning tobacco and alcohol, for those who can't think logically.

 

I agree with you. Ive been smoking for a couple years now and you know what, i do feel bad effects from marijuana... the depression, no appetite(unless i smoke) I'm more irritable, insomnia... etc... Its good but not in large quantities, and every day use isnt good.... just like alcohol its okay every now and then. Most peoples problem is that they do it too much! Thats when i go on a break for a month or 2...

 

I'm not saying that marijuana does anywhere near as much damage as hardcore drugs, but... You do realize that the pleasure centers in the brain need a stimulant to get you high. If you have been on a specific drug that dwarfs the "high" effects of THC, then you will need A LOT more of the THC to balance the effect
