The time for a new Forum?

Is it the time for some new forums?

This site is now 8 years old and is still using a .ORG url link.

This site should have a new forum setup as it looks alot like smfforfree. As this site is actually raking in loads of cash, purely from donations surely you could afford a better forum, or even get one of these HTML/PHP guys to make a new forum that would attract lot's of people.

What do you think?

 

There is already a new skin, but I'm certain that they URL shall stay.

And is the website actually 8 years old? I thought it was only 3, but maybe that was from a server crash.

Oh dang, I like the skin how it is, and the website should remain as it is. This community has been through alot.

 

I actually like it the way it is atm, and the .ORG is ok too, it would prolly confuse a lot of people.

There is nothing wrong with a .org TLD. It's pretty common, and doesn't really affect the site in terms of traffic. Smfforfree? That is shit, and to be honest, I don't really see how it's similar to Sythe. (If you mean how the topics are in the tables like here, then you're an idiot because 99% of all forum softwares do that) Custom software is pretty stupid as well, because this vbulletin license on Sythe has already been paid for, support for it can be found nearly anywhere, and it's pretty secure.

If this somehow eliminates crashing and the time Sythe is down, I highly support

 

We should just stick with ".org" there is no point in a change.
Or maybe if it stops Sythe crashing it would be a good change.

For the .ORG about crashing.. You don't see many .com (paid for domains) crashing alot do you?
Smffofree is shizzle i know, thats how im comparing it to this site. Somehow, when sythe made this site he did get a template, he didn't make his own layout, which makes the forums pretty shizzle.
Wow they bought a liscense. for this site i'd expect to pay $300, and frankly that is cheap!

Personally, maybe its just after years of coming here, I think Sythe.org has a nicer ring than Sythe.com. Moving the site would spark so much negativity by veteran members and mainly just be a huge pain the ass.

I think we should have got a new forum after the sythe hack a few years ago personnaly

lol i would do anything for my old account back i quit Rs/sythe bc of that hack

But yes a new site would help, sythe is like the only site in the world that loads slow for me time to time

 

The TLD in no way is related to the performance of the site. Maybe get your facts straight then make a real suggestion?

Changing the skin or the domain will have no effect.

It looks fine as it is, so why complicate things? The smarter suggestion that is anywhere relative to improving the productivity of sythe is possibly to get a beter hosting server. Because thats the only thing that has to do with not only the speed the site loads at, but the downtime.
