What the fuck? As soon as you've written something down, it is immediately copyrighted. It may not hold up in court without a proper way to prove dates and such, but it is copyrighted. To prevent this, write down your ideas, and mail them to yourself. I dunno about anywhere else, but Australian post offices date letters, and you take those unopened letters to court, open them, and show that you had blah blah blah at specific date and you win. Next time you may want to do that.

I sure the forum host could say "such and such did such and such at this time"

That's exactly right. If you do go to court, have an admin of Sythe come and say that you made your thread on this specific date, and that no other admin/mod changed/deleted records to say different, then, if you're really serious about it, get an IT person to check when their site was made, or find out when their first peice of proof to show that they had the idea was manufactured, and you've got it in the bag.

He didn't give credit to Rhino, that'll be enough for the courts.

The only problem the courts'll have is whether it's actually enough to go to trial over. The courts might see a problem as to whether the idea could actually lead to anything, or if it's just a whole heap of fighting over nothing.

If he writes a normal letter, he could just write "I wrote this on the 08/12-1901" Oo
