    The Existence of God

Its not getting stupid; its proving a point. The argument is the same.

As I previously mentioned, there have hundreds of previous religions: for fuck's sake Christianity is based on Judaism. Judaism is based on even earlier religions and so on and so forth. Christianity is not what you think; I'm tired of telling people of all the cover ups Christians have made, cover ups that would have otherwise shown the truth of your faith.

Faith is just acknowledging that you will not pursue the truth, that you will follow blindly. And we will never know.

    The Existence of God

Well im sorry for anything i havn't read, But i didn't have time to read all 156 Pages on this topic.

I understand that Alot of religions are the same, But thats beyond the main question.

I know we'll never know, But the fact is we're debating it, No point just saying 'Its an impossible question, We'll never know. End'

The fact is we're trying to voice opinions, And im just personally saying i think something i.e. god was the cause. Im not grouped in any religion, I don't pray, attent church or whatever.. Im just born theist

    The Existence of God

    Ironic?

And I think I explained it on page 153, 154, on 155. Before diving into a debate, at least read a few pages so you know where everyone is at, because now you just look like an idiot.

I respect the way you've put it. Most people would either bash it or say they agree with out reasoning.
On the topic, I understand why or whynot people believe in god. But what says that that "person" (or being, or even just a "creator") is not real? Sure there is plenty that prove other theorys but in the end it is just a theory.

[Not in the current conversation, but answering the first question]

I am Serbian Orthodox, and do belive in god. Or at least some other type of higher being. Not because of anything in particular but I have been raised into a some what religious family. I believe in evolution and alot of other theorys but for me, I've noticed that to many good things have happend when I would pray, or when something goes wrong for no reason. Could be karma, I'm really unsure but I have no straight answer to why I believe in a "god" or the afterlife.

    The Existence of God

But you have the time spending most of your life worshiping a non-existing being? Going to church every Sunday? Reading the bible?

You know its purely coincidence when good things happen sometime and bad things occur at times, and never in a perfect, constant rhytm. That's like praying to God that the dice you flip lands on 4, you flip it once and it lands on 2, you flip it twice and it lands on 6. You flip it again and it lands on 4 and bam, you just proved that God answered your prayer! (except not)

Care to delve deeper and provide an elaborate reason as to why you believe what you believe?

Would you care to explain why, or have you failed to comprehend the point of this forum?

    Edit:

    Okay, I seriously fucking Lol'd.

Having studied media in school for more than a year now, even as little experience as that is, it doesn't take a genius to know that the media actually makes things sound like the most terrible thing on the world. They make articles explaining "The end of the world" because it draws attention, which makes people buy newspapers, which brings in money to them. The very same is true for T.V. news, and even major news broadcasting companies on almost any medium. Have you not heard the saying: "There's no news like bad news"?

Through Nature= The more I study science, the more I realize there had to be a creator, something to start it all(not saying this is what it took to believe, just reinforces). God's creation is in glory of the creator, not some random happenings.

Through Scripture=Well, this is pretty simple:

    Deuteronomy 7:9 (King James Version)

    Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

    Deuteronomy 10:16-18 (King James Version)

16Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

17For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

18He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

How do you know anything about the nature of this creator?

The Bible is an old book. Why do you take it as true?

    The Existence of God

I think the idea that a single power controls every aspect of our lives is simply insane.
Pretty much, until there is some form of proof that Heaven, hell, or god exists then no.

Shredder, this is basically a dead topic now, unless somebody intelligent comes by, we shall ignore it. I'll miss your smartass remarks to everyone, but there's no point, now that we're 157 pages in, and we haven't been on the losing side of this argument in any of them.
