Why must we go over it on our own time? I've read online about people who kill themselves because they are around 25-30 finishing college after they dropped out. They can't handle the hours of homework after school, and they still must take care of themselves.

I know I said DROPOUTS, but they're still people.

Let me break it down: Homework is something to help you keep all of the shit you learn inside your head. It is studying the subject a short period of time after you learn it, and by completing the homework on this particular subject most people would undoubtedly understand what they have just learned.

Consider the overnight cram sessions people do for exams, and wonder why they only get a 60/100.

So, basically this thread becomes a plea to bitch how people do have it and dont want it. Its just part of school. Hell its a part of life. Cuz when you get older and have kids theyre gonna come home and whine that they dont know how to do theyre own work, so guess what? you get to help them

So stop whining that you have homework and how bad it is, and just do it

Why must we do it on OUR time? School's out means school's out for me. Why do some more work when school is out? The question is now seeping over to not why we have homework, but to why we have it when we do. I don't see why it's impossible for schools to do it on their time, when we are IN school. Homework is exactly what it suggests, and I really don't have enough time for more work at home.

We are in school more than we are awake outside of school. We put in so many hours and so many days, we can cover alot.

For the whole "Need to make sure you learned what you should have". I think people who are a little smart can retain something you heard not too long ago until the next 24 hours.

On topic: Homework can be done in class mostly though, if people wouldnt fuck off in class after the tearcher is done. i know, ive been there

 

Homework in the long run can help you, especially in certain subjects.
Math homework is helpful and almost essential to getting good grades (90%+)
Homework is actually easy if you understand what you're doing. If you're stuck, ask a teacher to clear things up, or even go to Sythe. MatthewGor123 (I just realized he was banned although I'm unsure why) and many others would be more then willing to help.

Homework is important for certain classes, although you can pass without doing homework and just paying attention.

Usually my teachers just fucking leave us 5 minutes to work on our homework after the lesson, if that, sometimes even less or no time at all.

Homework is bullshit in my opinion, I don't do any of my homework (with the exception of projects) and manage to get A's and B's.

If you pay attention to the lesson in class you should be fine without doing homework. (In my school, it's only counted as a "self-management" grade, which isn't averaged into our actual overall grades).

 

Personally, without homework I'd probably be in juvie.
That's why I get heaps of it

 

I've always thought that home work was for finishing work you didn't finish during school hours.

 

homework is a waste of time, to be realistic students never actually do it, for example in my class we have 1 person who actually does his homework, and everybody just copies before school starts or during free period.


when schools realise that the homework they give is pointless, maybe people will actually enjoy going to school. (or suffer less going to school)

 

I'm not saying I like homework or anything but I don't think it's a bad thing. Teachers give us homework sometimes for revision for a test or something. So yeah Homework isn't such a bad thing it help's us take in more knowledge and shows that we make an effort outside of school.

 

meh, haven't done homework for a long time, and in math it ain' required... I got a 89 in precalc without studying or doing any homeword

 

With the right teacher, there is no need for homework.
