Is this as a result of a threat or something? There must be a reason to do this so suddenly.

 

My Brother-(by)-law was given papers around 3 months ago saying that he was to head out to Iraq or something, im wondering if this was sudden or if they just decided to tell the public now? (He was supposed to be finished with that and have a desk job at Scott Airforce Base)

 

There's probably going to be a major economic collapse in the U.S. - they want to be able to effectively instate martial law.

That happens a lot...ask any U.S. military person.

i think that this is a stupid idea. when was the last terrorist attack on the US anyway? 9/11 was the last one i can remember.

 

Im joining the marines after highschool, i dont really want to be deployed or anything, so im glad this is happening. My Uncle is returning in a few months, so glad were finally getting our troops back here

As for troops in the united states we can't piss off any other countries if we are in our own right? besides it pretty bad when india says no thanks to our help, because the never know when we would leave.

 

It's just a shame that a year thereafter this is all said to be done, the world is proclaimed to end.

 

First off, Obama has no reason to declare martial law.
It benefits him in almost no way.
It WOULD have benefitted Bush, because it would have secured his presidency beyond the eight year cap.
I see little reason in declaring martial law during the first term of presidency.
Even from an evil conniving standpoint it appears very ineffective.
