My Infraction:

Hello there, I recently received an infraction for the gravedigging of : http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?p=4057012

This thread was at the top of the list, so I assumed the last post was recent, or something of the like. Why else would it be at the top of the community general list? So I asked Cheeter to fix the links, but apparently the thread was old, and I hence received an infraction from X9.

I believe the real threat of graved digging is that people take threads on, say the last page, and bring them back, just to annoy others etc. Seeing as this thread was at the top of the page, I would ask this once that this be overlooked, and in its place a warning. Under the circumstances (thread at the top) I truthfully didn't take the time to check the last posts date, and therein lies my mistake. But again, due to the nature of this mistake I would ask this be reversed, and henceforth I will always check the date of the thread, even if it is at the top.

I'm sorry if this has inconvenienced anyone, thank you for your time. Really enjoying Sythe, and I try my utmost to follow all the rules, and although this is only a single infraction, I see it as a stain on my record.

Then please explain why it was at the top. It was also marked with a "new post" bolded highlight thing to show a new comment was made.

Could you please check that thread for deleted posts? Perhaps someone posted before me, realized they gravedug, and deleted their post, and then I unwittingly posted and received the infraction instead?

 

You were the first person to post on this thread within nine months.

 

Hmmmm, well then I apologize, it was marked with the new post highlight and at the top, so I made an assumption. My mistake.

 

No prior warning was given, so I've reversed it and replaced it with a warning.
