40 defence or 70 defence?

Oke so I'm not sure on wheter to stay with 40 defence or to train to 70 defence. I used to play runescape purely to pk so it was important for me to keep my combat level low. I took a break for a while and when I came back all these new updates (bounty hunter, wildie gonne etc) completely destroyed pking. So first off I decided to train to level 40 defence because there weren't much reasons left not to. I'm playing mini games mostly at the moment so there seem to be few reasons left to not get my defence up to level 70 (not higher then that though, I don't whant to get my combat level over level 100).

But now before I permenantly change my pure into a main (my original main sucks), I'd like to have some opinions about it. Are there still any reasons left for me to whant to keep my combat level low? And next to that I might sell my account in the futher and I'm wondering wheter my account would be worth more as it is or with level 70 defence.


Here are my stats (Going for 99 range, 94 magic, 52 prayer and 93+ str):

 

I say 45 defense, it just looks better and there is a reason to not get 70... Pures kick major ass in PvP

 

Get 45 defense, get 70+ attack and 85+ strength.

An awesome idea of a PvP pure would be 99 Attack, 99 Strength, 45 defense, 52 prayer, 99 range / mage.

get 45 for zerker. if u went range pure or tank get 70.

 

I agree keep training your attack and strength and keep your defense at 45.

For pking, getting 70 defense is a waste because most likely you'll be pking in 45 defense gear (rune set, etc...)
Getting 70 defense is a waste if you plan on pking.

 

Just stick to 45 defense yet get dragon gloves or barrow like my zerker pure

 

Well sure, I would probably do better with level 40/45 defence on a PvP world. But seeing as you don't actually get what the other player you've killed drops, I don't see what the hole point of it is. So then there's bounty hunter and when I currently come in, with my level 79 cb, I get attacked by everyone (thinking I'm a easy kill, because of my low defence) and why shouldn't I get as close to cb lvl 100 as I can? Everyone can attack anyone no metter there cb's.


Don't get me wrong though, I don't whant to ruin my pure nice stats, but I don't see many reasons not to, as runescape is nowadays.

People would pay much more for a good 45 defense pure than a 70 defense pure.

PvP drop tables are random; you get different items depending on the situation but in the end it is random. You can get rewards from bronze arrows to dragon full helmets.

Bounty Hunter though is different, you can attack anyone in that crater. Basically, you want to get AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to level 100 as you can only get advantages.

 

It's definitely worth more if its a rune (40 def) pker.

Also in BH you want to be as close to 100 as possible, but try to make it around 94-98 as people wont fight you if your level 100-.-

Also you should focus on leveling attack and strength, rather than defense to get closer to level 100.

 

I'd say keeep att at 60, dont get 75 for god swords, dragon claws just came out, I have them on my 60 att pure with 90 str and I can two hit lvl 110's + nearly every time

Are you going to pk in Barrows gear? Probably not.

A little heads up for pures, Get the defense level of the armor you can afford. Rune+70 defense is a fucking waste imho.

That's why 1 defense pures are so popular, because you can literally get tons of kills in 150k less in gear. And possibly 5k in armor

 

If you want to stay in PvP I would suggest 40-45 Defence, but if you want to do some bounty hunter I would probably say 70 defence

 

This is a good idea, but only if you get Barrows gloves, or at least rune, as barrows gloves would most certainley get you over 45 defence. I recommend getting Barrow gloves, and being a 55 defence account. with those stats.

Stay 80 attack Get 45 def and you can max out in f2p mid.

I'd stay at 40 defence if I were you. You'd ruin your account if you took it to 70.
