The effect of Rendi's video on GP prices/market activity

Below is a chart of trade activity from the #trade-gold channel on the Sythe Discord.
It shows the number of messages containing "buy" and "sell" as well as "os"/"07". Messages which contained "buy" and "sell" were counted in both categories.



As you can see, the amount of people selling GP decreased by about 50% after Rendi's video was released late on 11-26, which has cleared up much of the FUD about the rumored GP dupe. This is a very abnormal change in activity, far beyond what can be attributed to normal activity fluctuation and possible sampling errors caused by messages like "buying RS3 $X/m - selling OS $Y/m".

GP prices also increased significantly after the release of the video, going from 0.40-0.44/m to 0.46/m+.

 

Are you talking about old school market? Because RS3 is super low right now.

 

I would say it's a better outcome than it could have been.

hopefully too many people weren't effected by the duped gold being sold off as quick as possible.

Could have been able to scam 10's of thousands of dollars from people if not more.

Did you take into account that some market users have both "buy" and "sell" in their posts, and some just write things like "B" for Buy and "S" for sell?

Or is the data strictly for just "buy" and "sell" separately?

 

This data is worthless tbh, literally every year gold sees a huge demand right before the holidays. If we saw yearly comparison maybe you could see a pattern but there are still dozen more factors to this
