People say "666" is the number for the devil etc.

What do you think? A hoax? Or the truth.

In the bible there is a passage called "Number of the beast" or something of the sort. It says that 616 is the real number of the beast.

I actually never really thought about this. So I looked it up. It seems that the original passage was 616. The most popular theory is that it uses the greek numeric system as a cypher and the number represents either Roman Emperor Nero or Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (AKA Caligula). That way the authors of the Bible could speak out against the Emperors secretly.

666 is the number of the roman/greek (dont remmimber) "emperor" or ceasar or wtf he was. He killed jesus therefor was called the beast.

Then that iron maiden or some similar went like 666 the number of the beast. then all cool satanists thought it was meant as the devil. when it infact was some ceasers "favorite" number..

Very true. Christian's give Satanists one of two symbols. They signify them with three overlapping sixes or by an upside down cross. Although, 666 is just a number. However, now it is used to signify "the devil". But it's always just going to be a number and nothing more than that. Saying it means nothing. It's just the same as saying any other number. Why would you fear it and not any other number?
