[DENIED] Stop vouch farming/vouch template

Other ways of farming vouches are not even close to being as effective as wash trading. And this may be only my opinion but trading websites should aim towards being random user friendly and not make it easy for businesses, because business will adapt no matter what as long as there are customers. If we keep letting new users get scammed all the time eventually there won't be any new people without malicious intents left and sythe will just be known as scammers hub where every trust indicator is meaningless

 

"Fake" trust?
Said by someone with a $200 donor rank and < 100 vouches (high donor amount, low vouches, a common pattern shared by scammers) who has made less on Sythe total than what I made in the last two months, even if I only count trades where the other party went first.

vouch farming is a very serious issue on this forums,
people click a vouch thread and the first thing they look at is the number of pages
this forums has only 1 way to show trustworthy status and that is through personal thread vouches

i feel like a way to avoid this, is to make only certain trades vouchable

for example

you're only allowed to receive a vouch from a customer if the trade was over a certain amount

aka

50$ minimum trade to receive a vouch per 4 hours

15$ minimum trade to receive vouch per 24 hours

 

if there was a system on this forums for vouches to be implemented onto profile, it would be easier to track what vouches are being left, and if someone is trying to vouch for a trade under 40$ they can have their vouches reset back to 0, like a follower count on social media but vouch count on sythe

BUT I do like the idea of being mandatory to tell WHO WENT FIRST.

 

I support the part of your suggestion that requests people to fill out a vouch template so every vouch is clear on who was trusted/how much was trusted. I don't support only people being trusted get the vouch.

This site is great in that it allows anyone to build up their reputation. If you work hard and are honest, you will become a trusted and valued member of this community.

TLDR: Support for a vouch template that specifies the trade so if someone is looking at your vouches they know exactly what you have/haven't been trusted with. No support on only trusted vouches. Good suggestion nonetheless. Thanks.

That might require migrating to a new vouch system, though, which is usually a massive pain in the ass because legacy vouches are lost.

 

Or it doesn't have to be a new system. Maybe can be 4 questions with (a) (b) (c) (d). On the amount you can have amounts that range from 5m to 1b+. Idk though since it's not broken why fix it.

Originally I was thinking more along the lines of the form middlemen have on their threads. It's required but thats for the protection of everyone. I honestly don't know as of now. How to require it and all that comes with a new rule. Prob not worth.

EDIT: I like EpicNPC's layout though. I think eventually Sythe could move to something like that.

 

A Feedback system has been suggested numerous times, and has been denied each time.

Requiring people to vouch using a compulsory/specific template is laborious and tedious, and far over-complicating what a simple thing a 'vouch' is.

Yes, people may be mislead by vouches, however, we can only do so much to educate users - we already have multiple types of literature on how to trade, and how to discern a potential scammer from a legitimate trader. We can't constantly hand hold and over police the forum. At a certain stage, the users in question should conduct their own due diligence (and yes, I know, new users aren't forum/trading savvy, alas, we can't aid everyone).

 

No support for this. Like some people already said, it would be too hard to get vouches and start gaining trust in sythe forums..

 

Yeah i would rather not have noobs come ask me if i can go first to them for selling them 1m so they can farm vouches

 

I saw yesterday in a Sythe members discord they’re telling people to vouch for them and if they don’t have a Sythe account to make one, use them as a referral AND vouch for them if they want to be entered into a 100m giveaway.. it’s getting pathetic how badly people will try to farm vouches.

 

You should report this, this is against the rules for sure

 

I did, was told to report the fake vouches from it instead to see an actual punishment.

 

Sounds bullshit, that's literally advertising buying vouches it should be perm ban if it's not somethings sketchy
