Sythe has a really shitty community.

I said practical solutions. starting from scratch will accomplish nothing. It won't stop people from scamming. It won't stop middlemen from scamming.

The staff tend to see themselves as better than everyone else because most of the intelligent people on this site ARE staff. The majority of the people on this site get scammed, etc as a result of their own stupidity/gullibility/unfounded trust.

Again, I'm open to practical suggestions.

 

The majority of Sythe.org's subforums contain deviant minded preteens who spend their lives on games. unfortunately that's what you get for basing a forum on runescape cheating. but i've met some awesome peopl here who i hope to be friends with for years to come.

Although i see your point, it doesn't apply to the entirety of the forum.

Agree'd with this thread. Benwise: It's spam in EVERY FORUM. GFX for instance. SOTW, About 3 sigs were entered every week. There was about 15+ posts in it? Meh. This community is full of spammers and scammers. /no offense sythe staff.

 

this community has some good members but they are all inmature and are here to scam and get persanal gain and not help the community which is what its all about dude . but it happens in life and we must accept it .

 

Agreed, this community does in-fact have some good and trustworthy members. Sure, the majority of the Sythe community is under 13, but that doesn't stop any of the other members from trading them, and the 13-year-olds scamming other members, which leads to most of the problems anyway.

 

First of all you don't even post about scammers, because you are one yourself. I Provided proof long ago, but they said that it was " fake " which it was 100 % legit. So you don't even get started because you tried scamming.

And as for what Blue said, i agree 100 %. Look at me i have a free training service to get a couple of vouches, so when i start my Pin shop i wont be called a scamming leecher. I would say 70 % of the sythe users are scammers, and another 20 % would scam if they got a good amount of $ and the other 10 % just don't care about pixels so they wont even bother with runescape scamming.

Yes i am talking about the Black Market section.

And as for you sh00tinhoopz i pray to god that i still have those screen shots so i can reupload them. And i also pray to god that they say their fake again...

No, we can stop trying to justify things with these responses, too.

I think you make many valid points, and that we have, as a team, been letting spam/scam reports go unanswered recently, and I'll personally try to do more.

 

Most of the staff does try hard, but there is just too many scammers/spammers and not enough staff =/.

But we got 1 trusted scammer banned : sh00tinhoopz peace buddy have fun knowing u wasted months of sythe....

 

But when you think about it, how can you possibly judge a person that you have never met before? Forum traders have no option but to judge others by their post count, join date, and vouches. We know nothing of the people we associate with on Sythe, we don't know what they look like, how they act, their true reputation, we don't know any of it. All we DO know is how long they've been on the site, how many times they've posted their opinions, and how many vouches, regardless of their value, they have earned.

 

To me Join Date doesn't mean much.


It's value of vouches tbh...5 good vouches where people went first to you for large amounts of money is as good as 200 vouches where you trained account for people for free from 5-15 attack.


But anyways Blue, I completely agree with you, and you were a good gold seller.

I think the community sucks for mainly two reasons, 1. Probably half the people that come here are here to scam, and probably 95%+ would scam if someone offered to go first with a large amount of money. And 2. Lots of people here are stupid or act stupid.

Well perhaps you should read the names of the sub-forums? Black Market: you don't expect people to scam? There is no perfect community. Only retards judge by post count; its a reflection of how active you are and your posts per day. Maybe its because I can play RuneScape without buying gold that I have never been scammed. Perhaps if you learn to make your own money, then you won't have to risk being scammed.

 

True, but many people on Sythe don't want to take the time, or for that matter, have the time, to spend hours on their computer earning gp. Thus, they come to Sythe to buy gold with their mommy's credit card.

 

As for the guy who scammed me, It's over and done with. It quite frankly wasn't a big deal, he only scammed me 30-40m. I'm not pissed off about the fact that I lost my gold/money, I'm pissed off that I put in a valid, legit report and by the looks of it a mod just opened it, seen an MSN convo and archived it, whereas I clearly stated that I have the msn window STILL open if you need me to PRTSCN any specific sections of the log. I also had the whole thing on video... But rather than someone posting "Can you provide a little more" or something, it was simply ignored, and a criminal was set free.

After reading these last 3 pages, I think it's clear that my point has been proven. 1/4 of the replies here consist of people backseat moderating, people flaming for scamming, people spamming, and on top of that; people spamming/flaming in regards to those posts. Then there's people expressing ideas, and rather than "That wouldn't be so wise, due to so and so" there's more flaming.

I thank those of you who put an effort into making a decent post and discussion, and I definitely agree that there needs to be something done to this community. I've been trying to think of some sort of solutions to 'clean' up this forum and set it off better, but I can't really thing of ANYTHING.

 

Sorry to say, but I agree with Blue Summer like 100%. People really need to shape up here I'm guessing.

yeh sythe does work on posts ill use merchant of crystal tears as an example, grand master in post count (he got in 2 months) scammed many people because they trusted him than banned, than they all come back on proxys =-s
