Youtube Downloader

I got bored one day and decided to make at youtube download and converter.
its basically just a GUI for ffmpeg.
Its not complete, the graphics are slightly screwed and not to sure if it actually works or not.

There is many already made. Just go on download.com and type in youtube.

 

What would be the point of programming if not to imitate/improve/get ideas from projects that already exist? Seems like you'd have to be pretty damn creative to always make something that hasn't already been done.

 

LOL wtf? It wasnt really a project aimed at being unique more about skill developing. Do you have any ideas? That aren't runescape related.

And any clues why downloadfileasync doesnt work in vista?

 

I haven't mucked around with the downloading functions (I'm presuming you're using WebClient), but so far as I know asynchronous functions should work on Vista - They're only creating a new thread.

And the async functions are supported on Vista according to this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144197.aspx

Ah interesting, Tested both xp and vista. The async functions worked perfectly on Xp yet vista decided it was to hard and didnt want to download shit all. Regular downloading without starting the new tread works but it seems to struggle to start a new one. Thanks swan for the links

 

You COULD create your own new thread and do the downloading in that. It is a bother to do it all manually, but at least it would be working.
