    Legalize Marijuana?

im for the legalization of marijuana for many reasons, one being that if it starts getting sold legally it will eradicate alot of dealers cutting down on crime and such, and marijuana isnt as bad for your health as they make it out to be, and it helps reduce some cancers

    Legalize Marijuana?

im in support of the legalization of marijuana, 1 reason being that it does help prevent cateracs and glucoma, but also 2 big reasons, alcohol is more dangerous, it can enrage you and make you do very dumb things, not saying alcohol should be illegal though, but marijuana just calms you, but 1 big thing, it is a gateway drug supposebly, so if it was legalized, about 10-20 years later it would be looked at as alcohol is, many people drink alcohol but have never even tried marijuana that i know, and marijuana wouldn't be a gateway drug anymore, making it not a gateway to getting kids started on bigger drugs.

    Legalize Marijuana?

Well I don't appose the legalization of marijuana but I have concerns with the crime issue. Wouldn't the sale of worse drugs be more common? My thought that something not as common as pot, maybe heroin or bars, would actually grow in sales, that or marijuana laced with another drug of some sort.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I see what your saying that maybe another drug may take its place and be the most common drug (gateway drug maybe even) but i in my opinion don't feel it would increase sales of drugs that are more severe, i feel it would decrease people trying bigger more worse drugs, because marijuana is the main gateway drug.

Everyone i know that does severe drugs started with marijuana, and i feel if marijuana where to become legal it would become no longer a gateway drug (after 10-20years or so) because it wouldn't be looked at as a drug really anymore, so i don't feel kids would wish to start with a drug that would be looked at as severe, because at the moment, kids start out afraid to try marijuana, they drink than they try marijuana than since marijuana was ok they try something more severe and get addicted, but the kids i don't feel in my opinion would be willing to just start and try crack or heroin without experiencing marijuana first, they take 1 step than another, of course once marijuana would be legalized (if it where to) it at first marijuana would still be looked at as it is at the current moment, but after about 10-20 years it would be looked at as less of a drug, so kids woulnd't feel as safe about trying more dangerous drugs after experiencing marijuana.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I believe there is already a thread on this, but I'll have my say.
Legalization of Marijuana will make the act of buying it much safer. I'd rather buy my weed from a liscenced vendor rather than some dangerous gangster. Because irresponsible use of the drug can ruin someones life, so I do agree that some laws used to monitor the drug should be enforced. Just like drinking. These laws could include limiting how much of the drug you are taking, not smoking and driving, no public use (except for specified areas like specified bars and coffee shops), and other stuff along those lines. Legalization will make users of the drug less paranoid of authority, which can get you a better and safer high. Also, allowing specified vendors to sell marijuana will likely lower the value of the drug, so it can stop making an impact on people's wallets and ruining their life. The government could tax the drug as well, which means they make money, which can go towards funding things to benifit the world.
I believe resonsible users of the drug should be granted access to it without worrying about the law.

    Legalize Marijuana?

There was a bill to legalize marijuana, but had many rules such as: Maximum plants that can be held is a maximum of 6, 21 or older, and it has to be a certain distance from a school. Weed also causes impairment and you get high faster than you get drunk, making it worse than alcohol.

    Legalize Marijuana?

how does that make it worse than alcohol? because it gets you high faster? alcohol causes impairment, liquor is a form of alcohol it gets you drunk faster, alcohol can enrage people and many people in reported cases have commited severe crimes such as rape or robbery while intoxicated, compared to the number of people under the influence of marijuana, i dont feel marijuana makes you commit crimes it relaxes you.

    Legalize Marijuana?

i voted for making it legal because its not as bad as a lot of other drugs out there and a lot less addictive compared to cigarettes also it can cut down alot of profit from drug dealers so less organized crimes maybe

    Legalize Marijuana?

You realize that "decriminalization" of marijuana isn't making it entirely legal, right? The proposed bill, which passed in many states, was to:
There will not be these "reputable vendors" or any of that nonsense - it will still be a FELONY to sell them (for now), and to distribute them to minors, etc. The ONLY thing that is being changed is the STATUS of the crime you commit - this possession (once marked a felony, thus going on your PERMANENT RECORD) instead becomes a MISDEMEANOR until repeat offenses. So it's not exactly "legal weed."

I don't *really* give two shits anyways, but just don't confuse legalization and decriminalization. I don't think marijuana will ever be fully legalized - but it's a step closer to being there.

    Legalize Marijuana?

Would be too easy for young ones to "start".
Therefore, they would go and get more dangerous drugs, to try more stuff when they found out that marijuana is fun. Therefore. A lot of high people, a lot of addicts. Is that cool? No.
