Topic of the Week

I suggest that for the User Education Section, that their be a place where you can compete against one another in creating Guides. Every week, there should be a topic chosen, in which everyone makes a Guide on. These Guides made are to be posted within the same 10 minute time frame, and any Guides out of this limit will be disqualified.

After the Guides are created, people vote on them, while the new Topic of the Week is in Progress.

I think doing so may bring more activity to the section. With the loss of 2 UE's now in the last week (Nathan III and Python), the UE is starting to lose its competitive edge.

Ideas / Thoughts?

Sounds good, it will get the people who are really dedicated and want to be in the UE to compete, if this is implemented, I might try to get in the UE and write more guides again.

 

I don't agree, I think that adding more compitition would just mean more plagerized/tampered, spam, useless, ect guides. Though competition does sound nice. Hmm, how could we do this without getting more spammers. It's a good idea though. I just don't think it should be carried out the same way your saying. hmm...

 

i think this is a good idea, because it adds more to UE not just writing guides for nothing, and i also think that this will draw a lot of people to the UE

 

What about time zones? Alot of people would not have time to enter becuase of the time zone

 

I think that you have a poor idea. Just because the Graphics Area has a SOTW, doesn't mean that you're favorite section needs one too.

 

I'd say that the entire UE team votes on the Guides, which makes our leaders more active.

so there would have to be penalties for the people who spam and etc.

This was already suggested in the User Educator private section and The Dark said no. It is his section so it is his choice.

Anyways, I don't like this idea. It is not about competition the User Ed. section.

Though for the User Educators personally see which one is the most active and give them a special perk or what not.

 

I disagree, I do not think the rest of the team other then your little sidekick MatthewGor would be up to this useless task.

And I was just thinking of ways to get more activity into the UE, as the team is slowly fading.

I may continue to think of ways the UE can be improved, and may hope others shall contribute.

 

You saying that it will make leaders more active? Don't they already do a lot of work? Anyways, competition in the UE section just means more Masturbation Guides (spam guides), we don't need more of that. There is already a "Approved Guides" section, I think that's enough.

 

Just to clarify on what was said earlier, GOTM had already been suggested in the private forum, and it was denied.

 

This isn't a bad idea, but the unfortunate reality is that too few people right guides in the UE section, and the majority of them are really short, like how to download ____ etc. Perhaps this would bring more activity into the UE section, thereby making it more enjoyable and adding a little incentive to write exemplary guides.

 

I like it, it would bring more attention to the UE as I hardly go there;p
