Thus the merciful lord is defined

The movie Pocahontas, for the most part, was historically correct. It also, however, was fabricated to appeal to the audience of its time.

Paganism=The worship of stone wood and other things that ppl made.

Judaism= Jews well.. true this was in the bible. Forgot about this one.

Hinduism=They were not around in the bible times, but feel free to prove me wrong. Not so sure about this one. I googled it also..

Buddhism=Was around in the bible times but not in the bible. This was somewhere else in the world. This man had visions and believed them to be true and made a religion out of them. (that is not enough to base a religion off of)

What honestly makes them so different from you? In the end, the idea of a god is just as dumb as the people who say there is one.

Paganism were really just a religion of nature. They believe in sun, moon, wind, fire, earth, and water entities. "Pagan" has now become a term to label someone as blasphemous, but keep in mind Christians in their crusades murdered, converted, and all around slandered Paganism.

Judaism, alright, so you're saying this religion is also true, therefore Jesus Christ and Jehoava are both gods? Or the same person?

Hinduism is arguably the oldest religion, therefore definitely around in biblical times. Googling religions can be risky, as there are many fundamentalist radicals who have distorted views of religions (as you Christians have historically been)

    Buddhism, you said:
"This man had visions and believed them to be true and made a religion out of them. (that is not enough to base a religion off of)"

I'm sorry, but you are just plain stupid to say that. Think of all the little stories in your bible that could fit under that; Moses and the burning bush, Jesus making water into wine, Jesus healing a blind man, Jesus exponentially multiplying bread and fish. If I knew more than a little bit about the bible I could keep going.

Don't be blind to yourself. Just because you got to a little Sunday School and you read about Jesus's various adventures does not mean you are going to go to heaven or are an expert on any religion.

No, paganism is the worship of nature spirits, as well as minor gods (Zeus and all them).

The Vedic civilization, around 1-2k years BCE, practiced Hinduism.

Jesus Christ, do you have any idea what Buddhism is?

Please stop talking about stuff that you have no idea about.

    Yes and no.

Immagine having a dream of a mysterios man in robes. He says to you amazing things. He tells you that he is a god. You make a religion out of this.

Also Lets say you had a tree. you cut it down and carve it into a bear and worship is as a bear God. (dosent that seem stupid?)

ironblade87 says "You also make idols when you worship your god. How does that make it any different? People who create idols usually have visions beforehand."

The bible is not Truth, its belief.
I've also never heard of cities being discovered because of the bible.
    Any evidence?

    You think about this shredder?

For many centuries, the Old Testament stood as the lone historical record of numerous events, places and people of the ancient world. Many of these records were once publicly ridiculed by skeptics of the Bible as being inauthentic and incorrect. It was reasoned that since no mention of them had been found in any other historical writing that this proved once and for all that the Bible was incorrect. Recent archeological discoveries, however, have proven the Bible to be correct in great detail and those who opposed it to be false.

In Genesis 11:31, for instance, Abraham (Abram) is said to have lived in the city of Ur. The existence of this great city was often scorned until, recent archeological diggings uncovered its ancient ruins. Temples, houses, and even the king's and queen's tombs have been discovered.

The ancient Egyptian city of Pithom has been uncovered and storehouses fitting the description of those built by the Israelites have been found, the lower portion containing brick with straw and the upper portion containing brick without straw. (See Exodus 1:11; 5:7). The mummy of Neneptah II, widely believed to be the Pharaoh of the exodus, has been discovered. A hymn to him mentions Israel and the inscription tells of the death of his young son, possibly the one mentioned in the last plague (Exodus 12:29).

If only more would realize that the Bible is not only a guide to the fallen ruins of ancient cities, but also a road map to the glorious city of Heaven! If only more would trust their Bible as being God's inspired message for mankind. Since archaeology has proven the historical trustworthiness of the Bible we had better take note about what the Bible says will happen in the future before it too, becomes a true footnote in history.

The evidence presented here is just a tiny portion of the proofs available to establish the divine origin of the Bible. Yet, they are more than sufficient to prove the inspiration of the Bible. There will always be men who scoff at the Bible. You, however, can be confident when you read your Bible that God is the author.

I'm going out on a limb/short end of the stick to say; religion is worthless. Do something better with your time instead of worrying if you are going to heaven or hell. Go get 5 stars on the dragonforce song on guitar hero III.

Hashslinger, you're an idiot. You think a man in robes who claims to be god is more plausible than people who find gods in other things. You are ignorant. Here is evidence:
yes, everything you say sounds stupid

Jesus was a Jew. So, can we get an explanation of how Christianity came about? I believe it was after if I'm not mistaken.

I know it's a motivational picture but it provides some reasons as why not to believe in a god.

Briefs spots of historicity do not confirm that the entire Bible is 100% accurate in all respects.
