    Filter's Money Making/Smithing xp Guide

    *Before you read this guide
-This guide is for p2p only
-It’s not the fastest way to make money, I realize that. But it’s pretty good and you get a lot of smithing xp if you stick with it.
-Don’t read my thread just to flame me

Requirements: 15 smithing, ring(s) of forging (see below)
Recommendations: 1mil+ to really see results, boots of lightness (Obtained from Temple of Ikov: http://runehq.com/guide.php?type=quest&id=00782), a spotted/spottier cape (Requires 40/66 hunting), and some music/some form of entertainment after hours of a repeated process

Okay, this guide is going to tell you how to make money off of smelting iron bars (Almost self-explanatory already at this point). From my own experience, I’ve made approximately 200k an hour at average (of profit).

Go to the grand exchange, and, depending on how much money your putting into it, buy all the iron ores you can, with enough gp left over to buy enough rings of forging for every 140 iron ores. For example, let’s say you were starting out with 2mil. Today the price of a ring of forging is 1064 each, and iron ore is 108 each. So it would be like this:

    108(16666)+1062(108)=1914696

There is no particular equation that I know of which will figure this out for you, but you can figure out how much yourself, depending on how much your spending. It came out a little under 2 mil above, but you get the idea.

The price of these are quite firm, even if they change, and you’ll always see the same results:

Now, here, it’s totally up to you where you would like to smelt your bars. Personally, I used the Al Kharid furnace, just because it was convenient (*Realize there are better routes than the one I chose):

Each bar you make is worth 12.5 xp, meaning when you get done with all 16.6k bars, you’ll have made 208k xp. Not the fastest form of gaining xp, but a good way to make money and smithing xp at once.
[I realize there are probably better ways like this, like making cannonballs maybe]

    16666 x 12.5 = 208325xp.

Now, once your done, go to the grand exchange and sell your bars, and at mid price you have doubled your profit to make 4mil.

    246 x 16666 = 4099836gp
Pretty nice when you started out with 2 mil.

Now, again, I realize there are faster ways for money, and faster ways for xp, but I thought it might be helpful to some=]

Thanks for reading my guide, now please rate it and tell me what you thought!

*Warning – don’t forget to put on a new ring of forging after every fifth trip between the furnace and the bank.

Pretty good. I used to use this method when I was training smithing at low levels.

Yes, you can do this with bronze bars, and a reasonable profit for f2p.
    [As of today]
    Copper Ore-68 ea
    Tin Ore-27 ea
    Bronze bar-168

    68+27=95
    168-95=73 gp profit each

E.g-If you spent 100k on copper and tin ores, you'd make around 173k, with 73k of it profit.

    Thanks guys:D

This isn't that great of a way for money, nor xp. I'd recommend adding smithing to cannon balls, and smithing to knives method.

Please note that I did say this isn't the best way to make money, nor smithing xp. I mentioned that above. In fact I stated in my guide that cannonballs is probably better. It's still a good way:p

Yeah, cannonballs is better money and also, the iron ore -> iron bar -> iron knifes method is better xp but slightly not as good cash.
