    Suicide, Emos, and depression...

if you look at statistics the large majority (being around 95%) of suicides committed are un-expected and no note is left and the person never told any of their friends that they where having depressed thoughts that where severe at all, which shows that also the majority of "emos" that discuss openly about wanting to commit suicide are doing it for attention and not because they actually have a problem, and a lot of them actually convince thereselves that they are suicidal and similar stuff.

You are a perfect example of a person that wants attention, and tbh i shouldn't even be replying to your post because thats what you want, people like you will take any negative or positive attention that can be found.

Yeah, I never told anyone (besides the last most serious attempt, when I called me ex after I did it).
That's the scary part of most suicides :\

Nowadays, most kid "emo's" do it for attention and pretty much don't have an idea of what an "emo" is, if there is such thing.

Is there an instance where a martyr is a suicide case? This is a completely serious question cause I have no clue. Only martyrs that I know of are religious ones. (I know someone is going to say that is because I am a close minded religious person, but that isn't true. Just because I am ignorant to some facts does not make me close minded.)

A lot of them are, but like Che Guevara he died for his cause. But i think most martyrs don't intend to die but willing.

Ok, thanks. I had just never heard of an instance where a dude committed suicide for a cause. Lots of people die unwillingly i guess you would say for a cause. I mean it wasn't unwillingly but it isn't like they were to happy about dieing.

As a teen, I find it hard for me not to act "emo." I am indeed an "emo." If I would ask my classmates, co-workers, etc they would all say I was. I listen to metal, death metal. I can't really say that I cut myself, I use to, but not much anymore. I feel that anybody has the right to express themselves in their on way.

As for your theory on they are just doing for attention, I completely disagree. We do it just to show how depressed we are and how we are feeling. I honestly have legitamate reasons that I am not willing to discuss in public for some reasons, if you understand. If you don't like 'em' leave them alone.

Well, ive met emo people that've wanted to kill themselves, im also emotional, im not 'emo' i want to do suicide as well, i dont want attention, its just how i feel. And, cutting, feels good.

And waltulz, no one that feels like doing suicide, and is still alive, is a weak person. The fact of some one thinking about that, they must be feeling alot of pain, dont call them weak, unless they do it. I myself am weak, because i simply hate myself, and think i should die.

"Emo" like "Goth" was a few years ago and still is, is pretty much a progressive style change that the "Normal" people try to sort, label and sterotype.
I have alot of friends on either side of the Progressive-Normal spectrum of society, id have to say im in the middle.
The "Emos" that many of you are talking about are the people in it for attention, Im thinking of a guy a few years ago that threatened his ex-girlfriend with his suicide because she dumped him, this is what i feel "Emos" are, people who take the serious matters and try to use it to gain attention.
Some people will try to tell you that "Emos" in particular are weak, suicidal, listen to bands like 30 Seconds to Mars and wear chicks clothes, as ive said before this is not the case. I think they had a good thing going, ive worn skinny jeans and theyre actually quite comfortable.

Also, Depression is a serious problem among people in this day and age, I dont know why they have it, im not a psychiatrist, if anyone seriously trys use it to get attention they derserve a punch to the back of their face (meant to not make sense) and sent into the slums of Africa to show how there life is so much better then theirs.

    Rant finished.

People cut themseles because of emotional pain. They feel really sad, and left out, and depressed, and whatever. And they think the best way to deal with it is to cause themself physical pain, to make them forget about the emotional pain. My friend used to do it. She said after doing it for a very long time, it stops hurting. And then they do it more and keep on doing it constantly to try and cause pain, but it just doesn't work anymore.

Being "emo" is something like a state of mind, depression, just that they want to show it to other people. They lack attention. The self hurting (/wrist, doing pills etc.), none of them actually want to suicide, this only shows the need for attention. Like saying: "Help me, I need help, I hurt inside."

These people need help, well, some of them do, some of them don't.

Some will appreciate the help you are trying to give, but some will just ignore it. Causing more stress, more /wrists.

What really grabs my goat as well, when we try to help the depressed people who self-inflict, most of the time they try and flog it off like theres nothing wrong with them, and then when they accept it, they say they dont need our help
