    When you kill someone that is NOT your target, you get the protect item penalty, if you pickup .. you get the pickup penalty ...

    Not sure which one you're talking about.

    He said PENALTY. Which obviously means non target killing. Woot for illiteracy/the inability to comprehend what you read!

    You can't protect item any other way but the prayer dumbass.

    The answer is no. You can't protect items while you have a pickup or a can't leave penalty.

    the best way to get your kill to avoid getting a pick up pen is to leave bh right when you get the kill, restock food and potions and go back in so you can fight off people for the pen to wear off
