What Runescape Needs (Read to learn more about Runescape's History)

    NOTE:
This is a very long thread. If you enjoy Runescape History, read away, I think you will find it incredibly accurate coming from first hand experience.

.....Hi, my name is Snow_Ninjas...I have been playing Runescape since early 2001. My first sythe account was created in late 2005. I am active in most forums and am currently an administrator in both RS-Exposed.org and HouseHoldHacker.com. I recently decided I would come back to sythe and have noticed what a wonderful community it is here (for what I thought to be a bunch of scammers). I want to share with you my experience in the game we call "Runescape"

.....Jagex was a company created in 1999 by andrew gower. It was a website created for online gaming (and later MMORPG). Andrew Gower and some close friends from Cyberwars (Jagex's hit game before Runescape), including 2 of my close friends, Merlin, and Rab, helped create the earlier Version of Runescape "DeviousMUD". Lightning and Gugge also were the other two included. Rab created Quests...while merlin tested most of them. Finally, January of 2001...Runescape Beta was released and their hard work payed off. Within a few months Runescape was a hit online game, but not for their questing like they were planning. It was for the great community of PK'ers. Clans of Pk'ers ruled Runescape...and without a clan you wouldn't survive out of Lumbridge. Everything back then was about trust and friendship. Merlin made me, rab, and gugge, general of his clan "The Wanderers". Some clan's like the wanderers, were just meant to help higher levels stay alive while training skills. Other's such as "The Sabres" were more of the Kill for fun type.

.....Back then in Runescape there was Skill involved to training. Now...what is there. The whole idea of Runescape now is to see how many times you can click a mouse. The longer you have clicked a mouse...the better levels you have. People who spend their time clicking a mouse all day are completely WORSHIPPED. But why? Is there any skill involved? No. In 2002 Jagex made some crucial changes to their Game. They hired their first moderator...ModSimon (he was such a creeper). They also added tutorial island...and changed the exp levels a bit to make it harder to level up (later giving people in 2004 level 9hp, there are a few 9hper's left). Most of all though...they stopped PK'ing everywhere and changed it to "Duelling" anywhere.

.....They added the wilderness and this became our refuge. A few month's after christmas crackers and phats were added...the idea of merchanting came into the game. FINALLY...MORE SKILL! Merchanting became Runescape's new "Big Hit" ... In 2004 a guy named Dylock and some of his friends found out how to duplicate items and the price of party hats dropped. Merchanting was ruined for awhile there...most were selling their phats as fast as they could. The silly looking pink party hat (now named purple in rs2) became the least expensive....and the blue party hat became the most expensive. The prices litterally flipped upside down. Dylock's little glitch, told andrew he needed to Renovate the game...he started creating RS2 which was later released in 2004. Glitches were alot less common than in RSC.

.....RWT began. RWT wasn't a big issue to andrew gower...other than the fact that it made noobs high level's fast...then they would get bored and quit...losing Jagex money. Eventually they got sued because of "North Korean Sweatshops" (not going to get into that). Jagex had to remove any possible source of Real World Trading. Merchanting, PKing, and staking, the 3 skills that took more than the ability to click a mouse...were removed from the game on December 10th 2007. Most 2001'ers quit right there, including many of my friends. The community we used to know is disapearing and a community of "Boring People" have arised. I can't even joke around with someone anymore without getting called a noob. I stick to free to play worlds mostly because they are so much more fun...you should really hang out with low levels. These "Noobs" bring the spirit of fun into the game.

What does Runescape need? It need's more fun, creativity, skill, and yes..."Noobs".

    Sincerely,
    Snow_Ninjas

I started playing in November 2003, and played on and off until summer of 2007, when I finally decided to quit forever by dropping all of my items. I was dropping rune scims all over edgy lvl 1 wild, and noobs were going crazy lol. Then my 5 mil ran out and I was done.

On the contrary. Before pking was gone, there were around 200k people playing at the high point of the day. After pking left, only about 100k if that were playing. And now that pvp worlds are out... 200k people again. It's kinda annoying with all of the fags and pures back.

Only decent thing about pk'ing was the pures put the noobs in their place.

You being annoyed that pures are back clearly shows you are one of those noobs that get owned by pures.

    Anyway, Runescape sucks.

Nah, I just hated when a lvl 50 could hit like 20-30's and ko you in about 5 hits.

Non pures were good in deep wildy though. Well at high levels anyway. At low levels you had 2 options, either be a pure or just train/skill.

The best place to PK was in level 50 wild. Loads of kids there.
