    1. What is your thought about User Education?

    2. Do you believe that it should stay, or it should go?

    3. Any particular Guides that you like in the UE?

    4. Someone you feel should be in the UE that is not already? (MatthewGor123!!)

    5. Do you think there should be more than just one Head UE?

    6. If you are against UE, is it having jealousy of not being one?

I'm curious to see what the Community really thinks about UE section.

I'll be checking on this later.

I think User Education is a part of Sythe to better educate those whom are in need. User Education was originally implemented due to the lack of intelligence on Sythe, and therefore was created as a result.

For now, I believe that it should stay. Its performance in Guide-creations are starting to slack, with some Guides having useless information that 90%+ of people will not use.

Yes. There are many Guides that I enjoy. I enjoy MatthewGor123's Guide on Torrents, and also the one by Rawr Im Phat for making a Go-Kart.

MatthewGor123 of course, and perhaps David493 as well. I am uncertain of David's motive for most of his Guides, and sometimes wonder if that is what has kept him from becoming a UE for so long.

Yes. I believe 1-2 more Head User Educators should be added to the UE section, for the lack of time that TD is to commit to the section. The section, however, does not really require anything from the HUE, except to Ban those who Rip Guides.

My thought on this - Still to be determined.

I am not against the UE completely, and therefore do not possess any form of Jealousy against it.

I think it's a nice place to go, but when an official UE begins to rip guides, it really makes me wonder... I definitely feel we need a place to post guides that other people requested, and also guides that you feel like sharing just for the intellectual improvement of Sythe members. That being said, there are WAY too many shitty guides that people just make for attention. Also, many guides are easily google-able for something very similar (not saying this is bad, if you make additions), but some are unique to Sythe. And some have features that separate them from comparable Google-able guides, such as organization, pictures, opinions, etc.

I don't know if we can really remove the UE section entirely, but I definitely we need to be more strict with what guides stay and what guides go. I think there need to be two sections to UE (much like what Tgump suggested):
    1) Good Guides
    2) Pointless/Requested/Fully google-able Guides (of course, if someone is able to make a truly quality requested guide, it would get bumped)

Plenty, I have been personally helped with a few of them. Here's one thing to keep in mind: when somebody posts something in UE, even if it is google-able, sometimes it's something you'd never think about Googling. For example, the guide on how to place FLV files directly on your iPod, I found a kinda similar one on Google (without screenies), but I never would have searched Google if not for this guide. Ya know what I mean?

Alex, you gotta lighten up. You obviously deserve to be in UE more than I do, and I'm not just saying this to be "modest" or "humble." I have drawn inspiration from two of your guides, and your guide to Paris is just plain epic. Most of my guides are by request, yours are original and creative topics. My best solo-guide is probably my Torrents one...that can't compare to your Guide to Paris. I also think David493 could be a UE if he posted guides on slightly better topics overall - I mean, he obviously knows how to put together a good guide, but come on - who doesn't know how to open WMM or burn a CD using WMP?

And unless Nathan III has a good explanation on why he ripped his "assignment" guide, I have no clue why the hell he's still a UE.

Meh, with the state of UE as it is, I don't really think it's necessary. We don't need rippers banned instantly, or anything like that. TD does what he needs to do, and that's fine. However, if we were to implement the separation of Good and Mediocre guides (maybe rather than have UE, then all those categories, we could have UE -> The Split -> The sections in the split), then we would need maybe another HUE to make life a lot easier. I mean, the HUE would have to read the guides (or ask specific people to help him rate the guides) and determine the placement. I think this system would work really nicely because it would make more people truly appreciate the hard work some people put into their guides, and not have this hindered by the crappy effort a bunch of others put into theirs.

I think the creation of the Approved Guides section is a step in the right direction, but there are only 3 guides there ATM. I think the entire UE sub-forum needs to be completely redone.

I'm not against UE, I'm just against the way it is organized right now, because tons of people don't appreciate it because of this lack of organization.

I think the section can provide great help to many people. Alright, so people are bitching about how it sucks? Well that is because those people are to lazy to come post. If they think things are so bad why don't they help? Sounds just like politics, all these finnliots bitch about the issues but they are not willing to take the time to fix them. I think the section could be amazing, after Unkown, Ekthador and such left it started going downhill but right now it seems on the right track. Why don't the others help us? The Dark and The Team are doing their best, we were talking with Darren and we are coming up with a solution that would help us fix the section even more.

Stay, down right. Let us compare it to something in the real world for better understanding: just because America is not doing so good right now should we just wipe it out and go join China? Fuck no.

It has amazing potential and that intentions are great. At the attempt to get rid of it, it just another show of the communism of this community.

I simply enjoy reading all well-put together guides. this is the point of the UE. To teach others and learn. That is what is being done, so I like the majority.

    • Shredderbeam
    • Unb4nn3d
    • Wtp
    • Deacon Frost (Would be a good addition if he would want to)
    • Jansen
    • The list can go on and on.

Though, people are talking about David493, I have a few reasons why I really do not want him in. From past experience it appears to me he is selfish and just wants the rank. I have also heard he has scammed. Also if he is on this forum for Runescape, then why the User Ed.? Maybe a ploy for free gold?

Two, at the max otherwise their will be a squabble for power.

If I was against it would I be in it?

    Their are my answers.

I'm not bitching, I'm offering my opinion, along with many others, on it. Me writing a few good standard guides isn't going to do anything about it either.

This is the feedback section, you shouldn't be challenging my, or anyone else's views, here.
Just because you like the UE doesn't mean everyone else does.

    1. What is your thought about User Education?
The RANK is a joke. Whether the section exists or not, I could care less.

    2. Do you believe that it should stay, or it should go?
    The RANK should go.

    3. Any particular Guides that you like in the UE?
I particularly liked a certain guide on using your bed to masturbate, but one of the HUE deleted it :(

    4. Someone you feel should be in the UE that is not already? (MatthewGor123!!)
    The Dark is doing fine.

    5. Do you think there should be more than just one Head UE?
    Possibly.

    6. If you are against UE, is it having jealousy of not being one?
To be jealous, I'd actually need to apply and be denied. Never applied, never will.

    1. What is your thought about User Education?
What about it exactly? I believe is could use some work, but the intentions are good and there has been a lot of effort put in over its time here on sythe. It continues to get better in my opinion.

    2. Do you believe that it should stay, or it should go?
For more than obvious reasons, Stay. The UE for me, is a sanctuary away from ignorance here on sythe. That's just how I feel about it. It's nice to be able to hold an intelligent conversation with other people there as well.

    3. Any particular Guides that you like in the UE?
There are quite a few actually. I've seen some great guides come out of the UE, such as the Math guide currently being worked on by Unb4nn3d and MatthewGor123. There are many others though.

    4. Someone you feel should be in the UE that is not already? (MatthewGor123!!)

Well there could be a long list, but some of them are
    -Unb4nn3d
    -MatthewGor123
    -David493
    -Finniscool
-Macroman (I wish he would return...)
    -Wtp
    -MCR_

    Etc.

    5. Do you think there should be more than just one Head UE?
If and when the team exceeds 10 to 15 people, yes. Until then no. I believe there should be about 1 HUE for every 10 or 15 UE's.

    6. If you are against UE, is it having jealousy of not being one?
    N/a

To comment on the activity thing you said, I have seen (on NUMEROUS occasions) less people in Programming, GFX, World of Warcraft, Other Games, and SCAR than are in the UE. In MY opinion, it's more active than many other forums.

For example, I just checked the number of people in each forum and this was their totals.

    Our Community-11
    Sythe MMORPG Dev- 1
    User Education- 16
    GFX- 15
    World of Warcraft- 10
    Other Games- 15
    Programming- 1
    SCAR- 7

I left out Off topic, Market, and Runescape as they are obviously the three msot active.

Without the rank how are you to identify who is a UE? With a User title I'm certain people will still come. They did before there was a rank.
