How do you believe Life on Earth started?

There is no evidence YET, through about 50 years of testing, that amino acids can be formed under extreme circumstances, but there is logic to suggest that such may be, in fact, possible. Who created God, if God created us? This is a fallacy of your logic; is God alive or not? If he is alive, then someone must have, by your reasoning, been there before Him. If he is not alive, then I'm not exactly sure what your point is.

It's not complete proof of God's existence, but you don't have complete proof of Abiogenesis. It's just as easy to "prove" Abiogenesis wrong as it is to "prove" God wrong.

 

This has nothing to do with abiogenesis, it has to do with the formation of the Universe. And this is also quite illogical; how could God possibly have had the power to have nearly unlimited energy? What gave him this power?

 

Just as MatthewGor123 said, if God put the things there, then who put God there? It is convincing that 1 little cell was formed from nonliving things rather than a whole God being formed from what? Nonliving things too.

And if God isn't real matter and such, then what is he? A spirit? There's no proof showing that God himself exists, there's no pictures, videos of God. The only proof is in a 2000 year old book everyone believes is true.

 

You cannot empirically prove the non-existence of a God, just as you cannot empirically prove the non-existence of invisible pink unicorns, fairies, etc. It's an unfalsifiable hypothesis.

Prove abiogenesis wrong? How would one do this?

That video is old. Its main flaw is that it supposes that the creator of the universe has extreme intelligence given the order in the universe. However, what order is there that doesn't arise of its own accord? Also, watch out for the argument ad ignoratum.

You're rationalizing your beliefs because the bible says it, too. Forget the bible if you want to understand other theories; they are not in the bible. Evolution basically is the theory that the most capable animals will survive and continue on and the former species will eventually diminish.

Consider this: If God created dinosaurs, why aren't they still around? Is he just forgetting to make more?

The real reason is that they died out and they are unnessecary to nature at this point in time.

i also believe God created the earth and all mankind. I'm a practicing catholic and i will agree the bible says some wacky stuff like how could Noah bring 2 of each animal on his arc. It would be nearly impossible to gather every animal but, I do believe that God made earth.

 

Just because you have a religion doesn't mean you hate to believe everything about it. Just because the book doesn't say anything about god creating the big bang, evolution, etc. doesn't mean that one can't believe that is the way life came about. I think your just being close-minded and ignorant for not trying to understand what they meant.

I personally believe in God, I don't believe in the big bang theory, because I don't get how nothing can explode into something (the universe), and if there was something to explode, then where did that come from, and then, you can always question how that got there, and so on. Evelution, though, that seems like a possiblity though, but I still belive in God.

And somebody said they don't believe in evolution, I'm sorry but that's the stupidest thing I ever heard because evolution has been happening since the first organism and is still happening today, like somebody else said, evolution is just changes from mutation and natural selection.

EDIT: sorry forgot to mention why I believe in God, but basically because I was born christian, I was baptized, made communion and confirmation. Even though I don't really go to church anymore since confirmation, I still believe in God, and also every other theory I have heard seems to illogical to believe, in my opinion on the theory, such as my opinion on the big bang (which is only an opinion, I don't know everything there is to know about the big bang).

So it was the way I was born, and haven't heard something more reasonable to change my views.

 

+1. But evolution cannot be used to say how life actually started... There's almost empirical evidence that natural selection and evolution DO exist, but as of now, there is no PROOF of abiogensis. There is very strong research to suggest it does exist , and very, very weak research to suggest it doesn't. Abiogenesis, if you didn't know, is life springing up from non-living matter.

Okay, so how come you believe some stuff in the CHRISTIAN Bible, and not other stuff in the CHRISTIAN Bible? Doesn't the fact that god contradicted himself make you feel a bit uneasy? Or the fact that the only reason you believe in him is because your parents did, and the only reason they did was because their parents did, and somewhere down the road, your ancestors must have converted? Any reason you don't practice Hinduism?

More reasonable? How about atheism? Hinduism? There is MUCH more research to suggest abiogensis than there is to suggest the existence of God. How come Jesus interpreted God's words correctly? Did Abraham misinterpret them or something?

And, if you were somewhat intelligent, you'd realize that the Big Bang theory has NOTHING to do with how life came to Earth. Fail.

 

Why does there have to be a start? Why does life or the universe have to have a start?

This may not make sense but it could of just been a cycle repeating itself many times, no start no end.

This may be hard for people to understand but I don't see any reason why there has to be a "start" to life (or the universe).

1) No, the universe was not always there. Nearly definitive proof on this subject. It had a start, and is ever-expanding.

2) And the question is how life on Earth started. And that has nothing to do with Evolution.

I think that all of the cells dividing and caused life, only question is where did the first cell come from? I think that as cells divided and became more advanced more advanced life came. Over the billions of years it took us to evolve into humans, we became more advanced. The more surface area, the more cells, and the more intelligence. Makes sense though right?

 

i believe the big bang and evolution theory. but also in tht case, its abit wierd that we are the only known planet with living organisms. so it could also be valid tht god created us, either tht or we havent gotten tht far in out of space yet, lets not get off topic though
