How to convince my mom

How can i convince my mom to let me get my ears pierced? I'm a guy and eventually i want to get my ears gauged. I tried talking to her and apparently piercing isn't for guys and she left it at that. I'm also 15 almost 16 in case that helps...

 

I got my ears pierced at like age 5 (I am a guy too). It doesn't hurt at all really. Convincing your mom may be a bit tough. Tell her you want to be an individual and a leader away from the crowd and that it would make you the happiest kid in the world. Tell her you'll pay for it (if you have the money). If nothing works go to a relative like an aunt, uncle, cousin, and ask them to take you out to get your ear pierced. You can get it legally done at the age of 18, or anytime with a parent/guardian/or 18 year old.

 

I know it sounds crazy, but do this:

1. Ask your mom.
2. (Regardless of answer) go to the nearest piercing shop.
3. Get ears pierced.

...

 

Considering I don't know how your mom acts it would be very hard for me to give you advice. Perhaps offer money to pay for the piercings, and tell her that you should be able to do what you want, considering soon enough you will be able to do WHATEVER you want when you move out. Why not now?

Well whenever i wan't something whether it be piercings or a material object my mom always says "well son, it's not about the money" even if its like an energy drink or something...
and i am definitely not doing it without her permission i would get my asshole glued shut if i did that.
I really don't want to wait till i'm 18 because that's a long time and i've been wanting my ears pierced for a while now.

 

Tell her that you're a mature young adult etc. and you should be able to make that kind of personal choice.

Just get a normal ear piercing. If you're getting those really wide ones you're stupid. Once you decide you don't like them anymore you're stuck with big fucking holes in your ear.

If all else fails, just go out and do it anyways.

 

Just keep nagging her about it and eventually she'll give in >_<

 

you only have to be 14 to get yourself pierced without parential permission right? maybe its 16.

 

Fuck peircing, get a tat....

 

Once i decide i dont like them anymore i take them out and the holes close.
And i'm not getting the ridiculously large ones, just maybe size 00 at max. and for all those other posters not helping at all, get the fuck out

 

If you can ask your dad. They usually say yes.
Or just ask her what the harm is. there really isnt any if you take care of them

 

That or she'd get really pissed at him and be like "No it's not happening stop asking."

Maybe you should take a more formal approach and be somewhat...diplomatic?

idk, like do some research or something and logically find reasons why piercing could be beneficial, besides the obvious individuality, or at the very least harmless. Talk to your mom in a legit, formal way to demonstrate your maturity point out the benefits/the lack of harms in piercing. Let her come back with her points and calmly try to refute her points while maintaining a calm, collected attitude.

If this fails, then just wait mate, there isn't much you can do until you're legal, to which I've experienced first hand. :/

 

Just tell her that you're old enough to make some basic choices that concern you, and hope for the best.

 

Be a man. I got mine done when I was 15. Just tell her your getting it done and that's that.

 

i just showed her a picture of what i wanted done and she jokingly said she'll rip my ear off haha

edit: to louis, it's not like that with my mom...and it has nothing to do with "being a man". I am being a man and have tried that approach and guess what? it didnt work.

Just keep on asking her, and tell her that you want to get it done really bad.

 

Talk to her with a normal tone.

A tone that says lets talk this out and I want to hear what you think.

Not your being completely unreasonable and I can't believe you.

Tell her why getting a piercing wouldn't be that big of a deal. Tell her things like, unlike a tattoo piercings aren't permanent. When she talks listen and be understanding.

Listen mom, i just want to get my ears pierced its no big deal, and its my life so let me do what i want.
