We should listen to your parents, being young we are unintelligent listening to someone who is older can give better advice then we can give ourselves.

When we get older and become more intelligent we will make our own opinions that may or may not be the same as our parents and then no matter what they say it is still our choice.

When you can fully explain why you believe or have reason to do something then you are intelligent enough to think for yourself.

I'm not "disbelieving" [this would require proof that God does not exist], I just do not believe in God [this does not require proof that God does not exist]. On the other hand, you are believing firmly that God *does* exist; this would require proof to be a rational belief.

Believing in god isn't a rational belief. It requires faith. But is this to say that I have faith in god 100%? No I don't and nor does anyone else in the world. It says in the bible that if you have enough faith you will be able to move mountains.
