Chain ban question

Hey guys,

When they give out chain bans, is there any info on how that works?

For example, if 5 accounts are on IP 1, but one of those accounts then gets moved to IP 2. Will those other four accounts on IP 1 get banned, or is it just the same IP?

 

I'm not too sure how to answer your question, a chain ban is just when Jagex can prove correlation between the usage of accounts either by same IP's or trading/muling that has occurred between accounts. Generally, if you had 5 accounts on IP 1 taking part in rule breaking, and then had one of the accounts move to IP 2, depending on whether or not Jagex has made the correlation between accounts yet, either the 4 accounts will be banned and the 1st will survive or potentially not but we must also take into consideration, if the accounts are all botting the same activity (or trading with each other) this could also be a trigger for the ban to occur regardless of different IPs.

Note: Chain bans aren't that common in low level botting on a few accounts, they most usually take place when Jagex goes after a bot farm.

 

If you have multiple accounts that are playing legit on the same IP as account X, but then account X moves to a different IP and bots. Account X then gets banned on that new IP. Is it likely the other legit accounts would get banned?
