A sold password was sent to me

Hey, I had a question regarding a situation that has just come to my attention. I was wondering if I could get the answer to this scenario.

I sold a individual that I met on Sythe.org a NeoPets account for 10$ USD, as of now the funds are in my PayPal account. At approximatley 18 : 35 hours two e-mails were sent to me from the NeoPets team, it seems the person who I sold the account to forgot his password, submitted a password e-mail form. But apparently forgot to change the e-mail from my e-mail to his. So now the password to the account I sold rests in my hands, I sent an e-mail to the e-mail address supplied to me by this individual as well as an offline instant message. As of now he has not responded. What should I do? Should I just wait for him to contact me or should I take control of the account until I can manage to arrange contact with him?

 

From what it sounds like, you have the password and he does not? If that is the case then you need to give him the password. If he fails to contact you after 2 weeks or so, then that is up to you. I would atleast give him 2 weeks to respond though. I'm sure he's eager to use the account. Until then, I would avoid using the account.

If you want a better answer, PM this to a market mod, as they will be able to tell you the proper procedure for something like this.

 

The person who sold you the account is either trying to recover the account, or you may have been sold a phished/stolen account in which the legitimate owner is trying to recover.

I would say take control over the account and attempt to get in contact with the person trying to take the account. . .

 

I believe the issue was resolved, when I tried to log in to the account through the password that was e-mailed to me ( To see if the issue was solved on his end ) the password ended up as invalid. try to contact him and tell him to change the e-mail and give him the new password to the account, so he dont think you have scammed him. just talk to him.

 

He wasn't online this whole time. I know the e-mail was changed however because when I tested out to see if he changed it by inserting my e-mail , it said a NeoPets account could not be found for the address. So I believe the issue is resolved.

Dont keep the account, A final trade is a final trade, Try to get in touch with him, hold the account for atleast 2 weeks. if he doesnt talk to you then id try to resend him the money and resell the account.
