Introduction:

Sometimes it just becomes to much. All these meaningless posts. I mean look around, about 45% of Sythe.org’s posts are useless, not helpful, and just plain awful posts. Hopefully this guide will convince you to not be part of that massive 45% that ruins our community.\

The Guide:
(This will be split into different sections, let us start.)

Appearance:

Alright, let us use this comparison:
Their may be a very good man, who would be perfect for the job of President, yet he refuses to wear certain clothes such as suits, and he insists he wear a whatever.
So let us think about this, there is something but people just don’t like the way it looks so they just cast it away. This is the same with posts. Let us make sure it does not happen to you as it happened to this guy.
First we start out with the font; what do you want to appear as:

-Someone who is professional?
-Someone who is laid back?
-Someone is a little bit of each?

Their are so many different combos and ways to look that I could write 10 pages about it, but that is unimportant. For this guide I’ll write sort of like a mixture.

Here are some different fonts:
- Arial
- Times New Roman
- Century Gothic
- Comic Sans MS

The list would go on and on. Anyways, I would choose any of those.
So let us pretend you decided to choose to write in Century Gothic.
Let us move on.

Now we have to work on color. Different fonts look good with different colors.
Century Gothic does not look to good with bright colors. If you were using that I would say you should use white or black which are sort of neutrals.
Make sure the color is easy to read. Always preview-post before you click the post button or you may end up appearing like a fool.

Another aspect of appearance is size. Never make something to big or too small. They both hurt the eyes. I would make it just right, say 12-14 sized.
Lastly for the appearance their is the bold, italics, underline options. Each of these can be combined  like that.

Understanding:

Make sure you understand what the person is saying or asking because if you misunderstood or answered the wrong question you will end up making yourself look bad.

Here are some steps you should follow towards understanding, they are in no particular order:

- Check Wikipedia.com and see what they have to say on the subject. I love using the different Wiki websites due to their vast amount of resources.
-Check the context of the post, if it is posted in the Runescape Section then that means the question will not be about World of Warcraft unless the person is an idiot.
- Read other peoples responses and see what the original author thought of them. That way you know for a fact what it is supposed to be on.
- Sometimes you just have to use your instdinct, oh well if you’re wrong. Just edit your post so it is better.

Avoid Spamming:

Even though you may have perfect intentions of your posts, over posting just ends bad. Some idiot will find the, and think you spammed and report you. Sometimes the Staff would misinterpret it. So try not to post unless it is absolutely necessary.

Also people will think that if you use any 1337 speak that it is spamming. So always avoid doing that.

Make sure that you don’t repeat what someone says about you unless your elaborating on it or it is considered spam.

Good so far, very informative, but I think you should post pictures on 'what not to post' just as an example. And a use of pictures. Other than that I like it, font hurts my eyes... But it's still good.

 

Hey this is a good guide, I like it, but you (Oh, from my picture, I see theres an error here)shuld add a pic(And here, Now I can fix them!) of how to spell check your work too. :O.

Use microsoft word, or anyother text based program-If your not running firefox, which not everyone does- and copy/paste your text.. If theres an error, it will be underlined in red, like this.

Erm, everything is spellchecked.

 

You put a lot of effort into it, but when it comes down to it...Hardly anybody uses fonts other than the default one, not even Sythe... IMO it makes you look a little bit LESS reliable if you fancy up your letters.
