The Effects of Marijuana

This is not just a debate, it is an intellectual discussion based on controlled scientific hypothesis.

Marijuana is said to have many effects, and I think it would be nice if us sythians compiled an accurate list of perceived effects.

Basically, list what you know marijuana does to your body in great detail.

We'll route out and discuss what is the effects of THC, and what is not.

I just found that it is a great motivator ^.^.

 

To me it just makes things more fun and pretty much everything very funny. No down side effects to my knowledge. And nothing serious.

 

When I smoked with my brother, who is a dealer, I felt my attention spam shorten to about 10 seconds. We were talking about our older brother and he asked a question and I was like, wait what. It pretty much makes it so you don't have a million things going through your head at once. I also was a little clumsy and stuff. It's like the speed of your brain slows down. Also you find your self staring at the most uninteresting thing for 10 minutes while trying to remember your favorite song. Also it's a heck of a lot easier to find the meaning of songs too. Just a little question, have you ever done weed Deacon?

 

Hmm, about a year ago, I was already drunk as can be, at a bonfire behind my house. A kid from my town came by and he had some weed, so he gave me a joint and I took that shit down. I was trippin' balls, I was like, afraid to go to bed by myself, and I thought I would die if nobody went with me.. Pretty crazy.

Other than that, if I'm just getting high, I'll be chill and mellow, take shit slow, etc. Shorter attention span, but it's not like it really matters unless I'm driving but yeah.

I feel relaxed. I feel like nothing in the world can hurt me and all my angers and problems go right out the window. I'm a mellow smoker myself =P

 

marijuana doesnt have many bad long term affects besides that it makes it hard to remember recent things, but its also proven that marijuana has no physical addiction and it only has an emotional addiction so marijuana users can generally quit with no side affects

I've been smoking for a long time. I'm in college at 17 years old, no problems here. Only thing affected is short term memory, but that's always sucked for me.

 

I smoke weed on and off, have been doing so for 2+ years now. Started with my best friend on winter break two years ago and we did it every day for about two weeks. It was alot of fun. I usually smoke whenever I have the extra money.

Well, it's nice to hear stories, but lets keep on track guys ^.^. Firstly, yes I have smoked, I used to be a frequent smoker, I quit cold turkey, and only recently started smoking on occasion.

Anyways, my perceptions of Marijuana:

• Heightened Sexual Drive
• Sense of Relaxation, and Excitement
• A Constant Smile
• Increased focus, but 2 second delayed reaction time
• Longer time perception, (ie. 5 minutes seems like an hour)
• The ability to listen to, and appreciate any form of music.
• An increased humor perception
• Relaxed nerves (Did you know that being pinched while taking a hit will not hurt?)
• When mixed with extremely cold temperatures, being incredibly blazed and cold gives you violent shakes (Mainly because of your heightened senses. You feel the cold more, and your body reacts more violently).
• Lower immune system (Anti-bodies fight less rapidly, and it seems that if you smoke 3 times a day with a cold, whereas it should only last a week, it lasts like a month)
• Acceptance of Fate
• Abnormal hunger, brought on by the heightened sense of taste

Chronic usage can cause a person's temper to increase in magnitude as well as their reactions towards situations. They also resort to this new (more angry) side of themselves more frequently and for lesser reasons than they normally would have prior to their consistent use of marijuana.

I seem theres no harmful effect unless you get addicted, lighting up every once in awhile isn't bad.

I completely agree.

When I smoke marijuana, it's like I get this distorted sense of time and space. Everything feels surreal, almost like a dream. It's a cool feeling to mess with, and if you've ever gotten REALLY high, it can sometimes be too much. I just like to laugh at everything. Me and my friend come up with these crazy explanations for things, like the future, and what will happen to this planet. We've made some interesting prophecies.

Me and my friend after we bake we love to listen to some trippy music, and you just notice things that you wouldn't normally notice. The music I listen to has so many layers that when you are high you are more sensitive to the little beeps and things we haven't heard before.

There's more, I just can't be bothered to type it right now.

I have no idea what you mean with "Acceptance of Fate". I also never heard of the fact that your immunity will decrease if you smoke alot.
But the effects you stated are almost totally correct.
Relaxed nerver: I don't know if you ever tried smoking first and than try to bend your knees. There is a really big chance your legs will shake.
About smoking when you are cold, I can't agree more. I went "fishing" with a few friends and I wanted to wait with smoking untill they had lit the bonfire, but my other friend was too impatient and so was I. So I lit the joint in the freezing cold (maybe 0°C or lower) and I noticed my body started shaking alot, more than it did already.
Also, the perception of time, that is so freaking weird. I have no idea why, but time really slows down, eventhough you witness the events that occur at normal speed (grammar?).
