No, he's talking about life on Earth - hence the title "How do you think life started?"

The bible has been wrong many times, it's a book written by men. You live in your own world, "give me evidence FROM the Bible."

Your Christian God is a contradiction and cannot exist in reality.

    omnipotence is an impossible artibute.

"Can God create a rock he cannot lift?"
If yes he is not omnipotent.
If no he is not omnipotent.

Show us some empirical evidence of the existence of your God.

Faith: The assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting solely and implicitly on his authority and veracity; reliance on testimony.
    Faith is irrational.

Back up your claims or go away.

How do you believe Life on Earth started?

...did I ask for your views on the Bible. And you should post in the "do you believe in God?" not me bro. I already have and I have proven my point. Check out sythe's post on "how i know im right" read it a little think about it and then try to come back to it... This is about how life was created not a God debate

and seriously you need to read those posts before you talk since my friend stumped sythe, and if you try to come back with something against it he will stump you.

and i laugh at your omnipotence argument since it fails. go to how i know im right and read what i posted. then try to argue it.

Everyone talks about how stupid Christians are for "blindly following their faith"... There is no proof of evolution, many people deny our faith and impose theirs on kids in their science books. Faith is still faith no matter it is believing in, faith in God is as equally "crazy" as faith in evolution.
Back on topic: I find your posts really interesting... keep em' coming!

How do you believe Life on Earth started?

It must be tiresome lugging around that gigantic brain of yours, eh?

Besides the links Shredderbeam already posted, here's a quick-read summary of the overwhelming evidence for evolution:

    - Tons of fossils distributed over large geological areas, all of which are compatible with the ideas of where animal X evolved into animal Y and onto Z.
    - Humans and chimpanzees have 98% similar DNA.
    - Close morphological details between humans and apes
    - Similar psychological and instinctive behaviours between humans and apes.
    - Macro-Evolution and Natural Selection can be observed in drug-resistant bacteria. (This doesn't really prove that humans evolved from apes, but it does prove that evolution exists)
    - Apes have *exactly* 1 chromosome more than humans.

Also, the list of evidence continues. You know nothing about this subject and therefore should not talk against it, as you'll just be displaying your ignorance.

Show me one experiment that proves that the "natural conditions" billions of years ago created life. The theory is that natural gasses that were present, along with lightning, created amino acids, the so-called building blocks of life. There are two things wrong with that theory,
    1. Even if amino acids were created there was no driving force there to "tell them" (forgive my lack of better terms) to mix together and form life.
    2. The experiment conducted that supposedly prove this theory was done in the 50's with false info, the gasses that he involved in the experiment were not the right ones. Every single experiment conducted after that has shown NO AMINO ACIDS PRESENT

You expect 50 years and a few quick experiments to produce full-fledged life, given that its beginning took a few hundred million years?

Also, you stated that there was no proof of evolution. Evolution is not the same thing as abiogenesis.

"Unlocking the Mystery of Life", eh? I remember watching that movie way back in Biology 101.

The main argument of that movie was the bacterial flagellum, no? Then you might be interested in this:

It explains the fallacy of Behe's logic rather well. If you have no desire to watch long, tedious videos, I can sum it up for you if you wish (although this one debunks his argument within five minutes).

How do you believe Life on Earth started?

Just a technicality...I don't think that Evolution is a proper answer to "How Was Life Created?" Evolution describes the process through which a species develops new traits after genetic mutations from the previous population of that species. Evolution does not describe HOW THE FIRST THINGS GOT THERE, it only describes HOW THEY DEVELOPED AFTER THINS WERE ALREADY THERE. Therefore, I think you should change the answer to abiogenesis, or spontaneous generation. Your call, though.

True statement. I also don't think there should be any differentiation than a God-backed evolution and evolution on it's own. The evidence for either would be the same.

    Exactly right!

Absolutely correct - and this is where Occam's Razor (best phrased as "do not postulate unnecessary variables") comes into play. It is simply irrational to assume an extra layer of complexity by invoking God.

How do you believe Life on Earth started?

Ha, that was a good read of the bible.

I believe in abiogenesis because the evidence backing it is much more recent than the bible written by someone in the olden times without the knowledge we have today. To think that something written 2000 years ago is still true is almost impossible, unless it were on simple stuff rather than the complexity of how life was created, etc.

How do you believe Life on Earth started?

Do you mean you think that self-replicating LIVING things forming from non-living things is more likely than someone or something putting it here? What is this "evidence" you have to suggest that living things can be formed from rocks and a few simple organic molecule?

I would like to know the answer to this myself... Evolution doesn't explain this at all.
