Yea, I meant only The Dark, I was going to post it a bit earlier, but Sythe is being a bitch to me. It's ridiculous that he and Game Dev mods have the power to give out infractions. The one that The Dark gave out, I deserved. It doesn't mean he should have the power.

Only because he moderates the UE forum, that's like saying programming mods and off-topic mods can't give out infractions. He has to keep the forums running smoothly and give infractions to people flaming or spamming to much.

Ya, they should have 1 or 2 section mods and a couple globals as well.
I don't see any problem with them giving infractions, he wasn't chosen a mod just because he wrote guides.

HUE names are under the boxes and the Forum Leaders list as moderators because that's how vB organizes them. We didn't choose to do that, vB did. When we go to give someone mod powers in a section, we add them under Forum Management. Once added, vB automatically labels the person as a mod, because that person now has mod powers. Now just because vB does it that way doesn't mean we have to run Sythe that way. Meaning, just because vB says you're some rank doesn't mean you are on Sythe.

A pretty decent example of this is Cheater. He was an admin - or at least that’s what vB said. He had the rank of admin and was listed on the Forum Leaders page as an admin. In reality, he had no admin powers whatsoever. Likewise, HUEs have the rank of moderator, but they do not have all of the powers of one.

Besides, I remember that I was asked to give HUE’s mod powers so that they could move guides around, lock the app polls, etc. Such are the duties of the HUEs - they need to organize the guides, set up all the polls, etc. The duties of the HUEs do not encompass all the ones moderators have. For example, it is not an HUE’s duty to go around and infract people on Sythe. Thus, they do not have the ability to infract.

The HUEs were given powers to run User Education properly, not the site. You can argue that sectional moderators were given powers to run their respective sections properly as well, and not the site, but it doesn’t work that way. Because in the past, right now, and perhaps in the future, User Education was not, is not, and may not be a major part of Sythe. I know you and the others have worked hard, and put a lot of time and effort into trying to make it a big thing. Unfortunately - and I do hate to say it, because I’ve seen the private forums and the work you guys put in - User Ed hasn’t gotten far.

Maybe that’s going to change, and maybe that isn’t. But as of right now, it isn’t. The RS section speaks for itself, as does the Market. The Programming section still does, to a lesser extent. The GFX section has grown tremendously over the past year or two, and I’ve personally watched its development; I was there when it began. Something for All has also taken off, though the flood of idiots through it doesn’t give it a good image xD I am not downplaying User Ed. I have respect for the section, and what several of you have done and are trying to do for it.

I’m just saying it the way I see it, which happens to be the way a lot of people see it.

I guess the point I’m trying to make here is why HUEs don’t have access to the Staff Lounge - because it’s not needed. It’s not a duty of theirs and it wasn’t one of the reasons why I was asked to give them mod powers. As for the modCP, you might argue for needing the ability to search for IPs to weed out the multi-accounters that reapply or whatnot, but that’s not enough.

So in the end, HUEs are not staff members, so they do not have all of the mod permissions, access to the modCP and Staff Lounge, and colored names.

Again, I mean no offense by the way I described User Ed. I mean it when I say I have a lot of respect for you guys. I know how much you put in, and how little you get out. But that’s the main problem. Not everyone respects you, and you know it. If you guys manage to change that in the future, and make User Ed big (I wish you the best of luck), like the other sections, then bring this issue up again when that happens, and we’ll reconsider.

Otherwise, HUEs will not be receiving any changes to their permissions.

P.S. Shredder doesn't have a color/bolded name because Clash forgot to do it a while ago, and no one else has bothered to do it since then. Otherwise, his name would be the same as Shawn_'s.
