Izad, Graphic Artist scammed me.

I found Izad through a friend that knew him and referred me to him. I decided to go with Izad to create my avatar for $25 and my signature for $50 for my company, Loot4RS. As seen in the screenshots, he asked me what theme i wanted to do. He went on to show me different ideas and suggested pirates since my company is Loot4RS but i didn't like the idea. We kept brainstorming and decided to go with a theme that reflects the discord name i am known as, Chips N Guac. I said i wanted chips, golden avacados and other related things multiple times that would match this chips and guac theme since its my discord name. He made the avatar for me and i liked it and had no issues with it and its my current avatar now. After finally seeing the first draft of my signature, the main part was chips and guac while my company name was nowhere to be found. I told him i thought the quality of work is great and i would love it if my company was chips and guac, but its not. Its Loot4RS and i just wanted a guacamole and chips theme. I asked him if they can be switched but he said that is a whole other signature and i would have to repay for a new one. I wanted the company name to be the main part of my signature while the chips and avacados are only a theme! I don't know why he would decide to make the name of my company chips n guac when it is clearly loot4rs and that was only supposed to be a theme. What if I choose pirates when he suggested it? Was i going to end up with a signature that said PIRATES GP and when you click it, it goes to loot4rs? I just wanted it changed before he went any further with the signature and he refused. Since he didn't want to change it, i wanted a refund so i can ask someone else to do it and he also refused. This service was not completed and I want a refund for my $50 to find somebody else as i will never use a signature that doesn't have my company name. Even if he tells me he will fix and complete it now, I don't think he'll put in his maximum effort after the conversation we had so a refund is the best option at this point. He gurantees customer satisfaction yet i am far from satisfied! Imgur

Here I showed a quick sketch of the avatar. The customer did state he wanted the website in there. He did not comment on the actual text in it: Imgur

I ask him what he wants to be the main focus, to which he replies:

The customer asks me if I will use the same effect on the signature as on the avatar. I told him they are two different styles and I advised him to get a logo that goes with the theme. He replied:

I am about to start working on the signature and asks the customer what buttons he wants in the signature:

I finish the signature and sends it to him. He responds:

We continue to work on the signature, trying to find a place for the website logo which is supposed to be a button. After a day he sends me a novel about how he actually wanted it and expected it to be. A little bit late to do that when you’ve gotten a finished signature, isn’t it? He starts arguing and I send him a screenshot of where I asked specifically about buttons. He answers:

He said he had troubles being decisive. I made a full signature. He liked it. He wanted me to add the website logo somewhere. He went off for hours to discuss with his partner. He came back with completely different opinions. I argue that this is a result of his indecisiveness.

I always ask questions throughout the process to make sure the customer and I are on the same track. This time was no exception. I asked your partner what buttons he wanted in the signature and he told me vouches, logo, buy gold, sell gold etc. He made it very clear the logo would be ”a part” of the signature and that it would be a button. He should have read the graphic terms guide on Sythe if he was unsure. Or let someone else handle the order. Not come back a day later after the finished product and demand a new signature.


By the way, you forgot to screenshot your partner sliding into my DMs trying to manipulate me, talking about how big of a spender you are, that I'm missing out etc.

These people clearly don't respect my time. It sickens me to see people who doesn't value other people's time and work. Calling wasting my time a little "hiccup" is very disrespectful.

 

There is no finished product. You showed me ONE draft of the sig and it was not what i wanted and did not have my company name at all. The first draft was not a completed product and there was still plenty to do. Do not act like you finished it. The moment i knew it was wrong, i pointed it out before you did anything further and thats when you said i'd need to pay again to have it fixed. I stressed many times that chips and guac was a theme including avacados, chips, golden avacados, or other things you'd expect to see. A THEME! - an idea that recurs in or pervades a work of art or literature. Maybe your misunderstanding what a theme is but my company name being changed to the THEME we did is not correct whats so ever. Instead of chips n guac with avacados and chips around that. It was supposed to be Loot4RS with avacados and chips around that as its the THEME! THEME! THEME!

You asked me 3 questions when we begun.

1) What colors? (I said red and gold to match my company + some green to match the theme (hence the GOLDEN AVACADOS mentioned many times but most importantly mentioned when discussing the theme in the beginning to match Loot4RS (red/gold))
2) What text? Mainly my company with my discord/uid
3) WHAT THEME? avacados, chips, golden avacados, guacamole, and whatever else came to mind to match this THEME!

I think if my discord name wasn't the theme this all would of went differently, but instead of that, i ended up with a signature for my discord instead of my company with that theme. I look very forward to hearing what a moderator has to say.

 

Your picking and choosing the few words out of an entire conversation that you believe help your case but they don't. I posted the entire chat so whenever a mod has a chance to go over it, they will see that as well.

To go over every quote of mine that you posted...

1. When i mention chips/guac/etc, i said theme.

3. Branding to be website! signature is where i want the THEME!!! to come into play, still want WEBSITE to be main thing

7. Lastly, maybe i didn't know the size of a button but any part of a sig can be clickable so my assumption was the big header that says LOOT4RS is a clickable to our website just like every other sig i have seen. and again, THEME was mentioned there as well.

Only thing left to add was your logo as a button which you asked for. A whole day after you return and say you want something else.

Your first impressions was "oooooo nice haha". Did it really take you 14 hours to realize it was "wrong" or did you simply change your mind within that time?

Correct. I can't remember promising you two signatures for one. If it would have been small revisions it would have been free.

This is literally the first time you've explained what size you want your logo to be. A title is not a button. But a "title" can definitely be hyperlinked to just as any other image.

Which is why I added your company logo on both sides.

Instead of assuming the meaning behind the graphic terms I use, be humble and admit you don't understand. If you would have done that directly, I wouldn't have done all that work in vain.

 

Any time that chips/guacamole/avacados/gold avacados/ or anything else like that was discussed, it was referred to as a theme. The big header of the signature you created is the theme i choose. The theme should of been what i wanted around my company name as its a theme. I have to say theme a lot because thats what you did WRONG! you made the main title my theme when it was only a theme. If it said Loot4RS with the theme around it, then you would of had it right. Here is the first draft of the signature and then after i say my website is missing, i get back image #2. Imgur

Is that my company with the chips and guac theme? Or is that a company called Chips N Guac with a chips and guac theme and then oh yeah, lets add the actual company on the side.

I was revising the signature. You gave me input on how to change the colors of the signature. Come on dude.

 

The first time i saw the signature it was wrong. It was not my company name with the chips and guac theme as discussed. Your first draft was an incorrect product and me thinking of ways and ideas to FIX your mistake is not me saying its correct. It was not fixable and needed to be changed to the right signature.

 

Come on to you dude. Look at it, really look at it. I wanted a chips and guac theme and you know that and we both know what a theme is. The avatar you made is my company! The big title is chips n guac in the signature!

 

@Izad your job as a graphic designer is to make what the client is requesting. It seems that throughout your conversation with @Loot4RS you are hesitant or unwilling to make specific changes because you think that it would make the signature "look worse". Your service is to provide the client with what they are asking, not with creating something that you believe is the best looking piece you can if that makes sense.

The user was occasionally vague or unclear with their description and feedback when presented with the designs, and you happened to misunderstand a large amount of the feedback the user presented. There are points where @Loot4RS seems to contradict themselves and aren't able to precisely explain what they mean, but that is part of being a graphic designer. Not everybody is well versed in design lingo and it's up to you to ask questions and make sure both parties understand what is being asked of each other. @Izad Having been in the market before I 100% understand how you can feel frustrated and annoyed by this.

@Izad has done more than enough work here that I don't feel a refund is warranted (yet). @Izad will however be required to make a reasonable effort in implementing changes/revisions that you have requested. If he fails to do so please create another report @Loot4RS
