Bump Option

After seeing all the rejected and forgotten threads on the pages nobody views, I have realized that people lose track of them, they'll forget them, and return days later to find they are gone. Lost within the mess of people trying to out sell, or out buy them.

In order to keep my threads up I will have someone I know (from Sythe obviously) post on them, or I'll tell them to take a look at my post, see if they like what I have to offer, or have what I'm in need of.

More recently I've been thinking of a "Bump Option" quite like they have on the RuneScape forums. I have no idea whether this was already discussed or not, but I thought it would be an interesting, and beneficial addition to Sythe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it speed up the site itself due to less posts? I understand if what we (the community) look for is posts, but I figure why not have the bump feature on a 2-3 hour limit, 1 bump per 2-3 hours, to keep the site fast, and clean.

This is merely a suggestion for higher powers, but I feel like it will be highly beneficial to the site itself

EDIT: This would also reduce the amount of double, triple, etc. posting.

 

We don't want BUMPs because then when your offline the 100 people who have been online since when you last log off press the "bump" button and your thread ends up on page 5-10. If your online its easy enough to make a stupid (yet "legal") post like "I'm talking to *insert name here* on msn"

 

Yeah, that makes sense to me, I think that there should be an auto subscribe function then, so when you make a thread you will automatically be notified if someone posts on it
