Most the big potheads I know are making more money than most minimum wage jobs from selling it. It's called mind over matter.

I have a job at a Bestbuy, and I blaze it during school, and during work. I can guaretee I'm making more money than you are. Most my friends are like me, they work and smoke weed. Just because its naturally made doesnt mean that it is natural, hundreds of chemicals go into it whilst growing and all sorts of things are added to increase the weight, people add sand and shit to make it heavier, and smoking sand wont do you any good what so ever.

From an economic perspective, it is an inefficient thing to do. Think about it.
Government makes marijuana legal.
Government places some sort of tax or permit on growing/selling marijuana so as to raise revenue.
This sudden increase in government income will lead to an increase in government spending, which will cause inflation.
Inflation will lead to higher interest rates, meaning people will be taking out less money to spend/invest/pay for expensive items.
People spending less large amounts of money leads to a decrease in production of goods which leads to people getting laid off because the company isn't making as much money.
Economy is flushed down the toilet.

Whether or not it is harmful is irrelevant. I own my body, I can do to it as I please.

 

However they are not only looking out for the saftey of you, they are looking out for the safety of other people who chose not to use drugs. The government doesnt want you to get high then accidentally hurt yourself or someone else.

 

I live in the uk in a not rough place. I had a friend i have known most of my life but the start of highschool changed him. He was curious about stuff. He started smoking paper (wtf i know lol). Anyway it somehow has left him smoking joints nearly everyday and now after about 9 months of the stuff he is very wierd. He has changed alot. I could ask him the date and he wouldn't know it for about 2 seconds. He will flinch at the slightest of moves and sort of cringes.

Honestly, no politician in a high office position would ever legalize Marijuana - it's not so much the principal or morality of the matter, it's the bureaucracy and agenda of the pharmaceutical market and the DEA.
