Okay... So with out proof there isn't really much of an argument. It's like saying he killed somebody, but I am not going to prove it... You just have to have faith in me.

Any way... Why did you choose Christianity as your religion? There are plenty others, so why did you choose this one? I mean... Why not be some other religon like Islamic, Buddhism, Judaism etc. Does Christianity make more sense to you than other religions?

Heh, you wana know the truth. I chose this religion because my parents chose it. That sounds stupid and heck if that was the only reason it would be completely idiotic of me, but it isn't. I have grown up in the Christian church and seen the change in peoples lives. I have seen drug addicts and abusive fathers turn to Christ and change completely. I see the truth in God's word and believe every word of it, and that will NEVER change. If I live my whole life a lie (which I am not saying that I am this is just for the sake of argument) but if i live my whole life a lie what have I lost? Nothing. Absolutely 100% nothing. I have lived a good life and helped others out, but on the "off chance" that I am right I have gained EVERYTHING. I have gained eternity in heaven with God. In all other religions there are many ways to "heaven". Just be a good person and you will be rewarded. I don't believe that way, but if it were true I would still go to heaven because of the way I lived. I have nothing to lose from being a Christian and EVERYTHING to gain. If I get persecuted and hated it's my own fault. God is sovereign and that will never change. I hope I cleared some of my views up for you.

I don't believe in a God simply because there is so much suffering in the world, I can't imagine this is "God's Work". -shrug-

You should study other religions before becoming involved in one, but that's just my opinion.

I would tend to agree with you, but the fact is I will not change in my belief. I'm stubborn and sometimes stupid. In this case I don't believe I am stupid in the decision I have made, but that isn't for me to decide. I will be praying for you along with arya, shedderbeam, mathewgor, and a few others. I really wish you the best.

    Good night.

There have been hundreds, if not thousands of gods that have been believed in throughout history - how do you know you follow the correct one?

I'm a member the religion XYZ and my god sends all Christians to hell. Repent and convert now and you will be saved.

I think there's a couple of words for that.

Brainwashed / Faith / The list goes on.

    Sarcasm failed. :D

Faith is belief that flies in the face of contrary evidence, or belief when there is simply a lack of evidence.

You try to argue for your belief when it wasn't even chosen by you?

You're essentially brainwashing yourself. Can you consider that people change because they believe something to be true?

You'll be praying for me? I'll be thinking for you.

    The Existence of God

I'm a Jew. Do I believe entirely in God, per say? No. Predestination? Bullshit. I am a Jew by community, not by faith. And can I prove an existence of a supernatural being? Of course not. But is it irrational to believe something that equally irrational people have believed in for millennia if it led them to success? Is it irrational to believe I'm going to be successful too, if we follow a historical trend?

It's funny how, despite being less than 1/500 of the World's population, Judaism is still talked about so greatly. IMO, it's no coincidence - it's because of the community.

Why do you "worship," or at least look up to, certain people in your life?

Judaism is a great religion because even the fundamentalists are very mild. The values of community are more celebrated than the literal interpretation of God and everything he is supposedly able to do.

Most of it comes down to how independent of an individual you are.

This is a bit of a generalization, but more independent people question God's existence, and are Atheists.

I think both sides bring good arguments though, but since neither can be proved, I find the arguments rather pointless.

If I might inquire, please note I ask this as a simple question. I intend not to attack your atheist belief, or any other beliefs you hold, but how do you explain the creation of life without God?

    The Existence of God

Explain how an entire universe, can be compressed into a sphere smaller than an electron. Then suddenly explode into a virtually infinite size.
