A short guide to getting 99's

Umm, slayer is one of the most profitable skills to raise. The cost of food is negligible when training slayer as you nearly always get your money back and even then you make good money of it. I fail to see the why attack, strength, and defense relate to the cost of training slayer. When your powertraining, you are wasting food. When you are doing slayer, you are gaining a lot of money and getting experience. As for smithing, "under these circumstances" is easy to say, but I can say plenty of stuff like that. If you do that it'll only take you half your life to get 99 however lucrative the method is. I'm not picking up on your little mistakes, I'm telling you from firsthand experience that you are wrong. Obviously chinning isn't profitable, and you said 90% of the time 99 range isn't profitable. Well I'd say less than 5% of people with 99 range used chins from 70-99 or a cannon. Excluding those, range to 99 is nearly always profitable unless you kill ogres. I did my research when I got my 8 99's and played since RS2 came out. Yew longs are still profitable; I would know I just got 99 fletching on an alternate. And for the record, they sell instantly at market, making you about 20k per 1k yew longs. Price fluctuates, so if yew longs are indeed lower at any date, Yanille Bank on world 132 will guarantee you get the money back.

You can't seem to understand connections between simple concepts, I'd like you to stop harassing me and ruining my thread. This thread is meant to give users a general idea, not picking up on the "what ifs". If you are so opinionated on this topic, please make your own thread. If you had constructed your first post in a constructive manner, rather than in an attacking fashion, I would have considered including your remarks in my guide. However, you decided that being a jerk about it would be the best approach. Again, please stop posting in my thread, and make your own if you feel so inclined.

Dude, I'm not trying to spark conflict. Just consider what I said, that's what comments are for not just to be positive and fuzzy. I'm not being a jerk about it, I have refrained from any offensive and aggressive attempts to discredit you, just to point out your guide is a ship with holes in it. I regret you had to react in such a heated manner, but that is just the nature of people.

 

i didn't really like the guide but i guess thats my own opinion and i don't find firemaking an expensive skill it only cost's a few mill wich isn't exactly a whole lot compared to most skill's.

and i guess slayer doesn't become profitable until you get it a bit higher but i would say that right next to it.

 

maybe make a guide on those skills? or links to good guides you have seen for those skills?

jwing can i ask what 99 skills u have? and also fletching is not costly if u do it right. ive been doing yew longs all week buying yew logs and the bowstring. and ive been making a little money so its not costly at all. ranging is only costly if you chin it. if you do blue drags or avansies u make a ton of money to 99.

 

Currently, I only have cooking, fletching, hunter, woodcutting, firemaking, and almost mage, 98 with 900k left.

This is inaccurate as many monsters give positive drops, and require range to kill. (Avenese, Fire giants, Dust devils, And more.

There needs to be green in here.
Because of: Iron/Steel dragon killing with firebolt. Humidify, and other lunar spells make a good profit too. And please don't forget the MTA.


Runecrafting Lucrative after 91 especially
Well if you were kind enough to make mage's power training ways red, Then why not include runecraftings? Such as combination runes?

Sorry but bolts/bows/xbows can still make profit.





Cooking - Raw is almost always worth more than cooked
Firemaking

I highly disagree with this one. Many players make Pizza's for money? Doesn't that require cooking? And so do tuna potatos?

Disagree. If trained correctly it can be 100% green. From level 16 or so .

I'm pretty sure you don't get any cooking exp making pizza's.

 

You get xp for making pizzas.... And I prefer the autoing method of skilling. :laugh:

That's a pretty decent guide! 8/10. I'll probably go with woodcutting first, since its a lot quicker than runecrafting.

 

Its a very good guide, I myself was interested, but it was WAY too short, I was expecting at least 10 minutes of reading. You should add ways of getting each individual skill to level 99, instead of suming all of them up in a short paragraph. If you go into detail on what people should to do get Construction up, or how its costly, then people would read through your guide and take every word from it and use it to better their account. This could be an excellent guide if there was detail in some of the skills. Still good though. 7/10
