~Signature Attempt #2: Anime.

I know its horrible, but, please be nice. Tell me whats wrong and how I could improve it. Please if you came here to say 0/10-10/10. Please just don't even post a reply on this thread. I want a detailed analysis of this signature.

 

The blending is not really right

Aliasing on the render really detracts from the piece as a whole.

 

Dammit I tried hella hard to make sure there was some blending in this signature. I picked through alike colors and all... thanks for the information, Jansen.

 

i personally dont like anime sigs. but for your second sig i suppose its not terrible.It's a little small and also just looks like some dl bushes.

 

Compare your work to your current signature:



Notice how on that signature, there is no clear separation of the background from the render. This creates a "scene" rather than just a render on a background. This is what you're going for with proper blending. You have to use various techniques - lighting, flow, and other dynamics - to create this blending effect.

It's not 100% your fault this time. The jaggy edges on the render REALLY make it hard.

What you did wrong:

You really "outlined" the render with the yellowish glow. This is counter-productive towards blending, and really adds to the aliasing and removes the render from the background even further.

The little puffs of white light do not create any lighting changes on the render or the background. It makes it look like they are dust particles or something odd, rather than sources of light.

Also, the render choice overall might not have been the best. You really have to be picky in finding something that will work. I'll use your current signature as an example again:

The render in this signature implies motion or action. There is a a sense that the subject with the guns is sortof flying backwards in slow motion, and this is just a captured frame in an animation. This is good, it makes it interesting.

Aim for an action-filled render. It makes it a LOT easier. This is not to say you can't do a signature with a "posing" or "still" render, it just makes your job a lot easier to do otherwise.​

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate your help. Believe it or not I am the actual author of that second signature. I can't prove it, as it was about eight to ten months ago that I made it. Ive had a million reformats since then. Thus, I don't have the PSD for it anymore. But, I am the creator. You can tell I haven't done much graphic design in awhile.

P.S. - Get that effin' English homework done. It does pay-off. This is coming from a guy with a bachelors in Computer Networking. :laugh:
