Ok I was gone from the fourm for a few hours.. I have some new conclusions..
First of all, my parents already know what happened mostly (excluding me breaking any laws), and second of all I think the guy isn't going to fix a dent if there happens to be one. If the guy wanted the "dent" fixed, he would have me pay straight up to whoever fixes it.. he is asking for $200 instead to fix it himself.. hmmm... I think hes just gonna keep the money what about you?
One way I can eliminate a theory is by observing the "dent" in person and taking picture proof of whatever is "dented"

Here are my conclusions...

1.) the man is expecting his money and I decide to take a look at the "dent", A.) there is no dent or it is irrelevant to the paper water cup. I take a picture. The man backs off.
B.) the dent is present and relevant to a paper cup; I would need to pay

2.) I pay him $200 in cash.
A.) he just keeps the money
B.) he fixes the dent himself

3.) I offer to pay for the dent but only in person along with him at the place of repair
A.) the man agrees and the dent is fixed
B.) the man realizes that if there isn't a dent, it cant be fixed and backs off.
C.) the man refuses and asks for $200 in cash and I decline because there is no dent and I get off.
D.) the man refuses and asks for $200 in cash and I pay him because there is a dent present and relevant to a paper cup with water

You should probably just make the kid pay. However if your feeling like a bitch you could take him to court and prove in many ways how there is absolutely no way a paper cup did $400 worth of damage. Using that method would leave him with nothing, that is except for the feeling of stupidity for actually suing you for a paper cup =]

Actually all he has to do is get a price check on what damage is there and beings you can't prove it did not happen and he reported it, He would be in the right and would at the very least accumulate some of the money. I would suggest you have them take it up with your friend because you can still get in trouble for it beings you're the driver you take all the bullshit because you are suppose to have your car under control.
