OSRS will die and vennies will lose their jobs

Runescape isn't a great PvM game and there are many other superior PvM alternatives with more exciting mechanics. Inherently Jagex believes that PvMers are downvoting their PvP suggestions and their latest idea is to reintroduce Vesta, Statius, Morrigan weapons back into the game. I think they are too blind to see that it isn't PvMers downvoting their suggestions, but their suggestions display a lack of critical thinking and innovation.

Personally the allure of Runescape and the wilderness was the unknown. Games become stale when you start to understand and have access to everything. Gold has become cheap and easily obtainable, outside of Zeah (which was probably the best update in a long time) the game and wilderness has not expanded, and a lot of players are bored to the extent that they consider leveling and maxing out stats as the most fun part of the game. There is no reward at the end of the tunnel.

Jagex continues to introduce new items drawn on MS Paint that are unneeded and either totally useless or overpowered. The game doesn't need Vesta, Statius, or Corrupt Dragon items, the wilderness needs to be expanded e.g. make it go up higher in levels and stop thinking about new bosses/weapons and focus on cool environment and terrain like castles and so forth.

Wildy doesn't need to be expanded. Its already so spread out it's hard to find someone to fight especially with the additional mobile worlds, modes and minigames.

 

Aside from those weapons enabling new builds, leading to more resources being consumed and stimulating the market, they also serve as a means of consensual wealth transfer from rich players to less wealthy players and as a way to make pking profitable for noobs without having to dump resources into the game.
Due to it's power, VLS was tens of millions of GP before EoC, even though it was unlikely any pker would ever break even on using it. Rich pkers or PVMers who wanted to feel like a god for a day bought those items from less wealthy pkers, allowing pking to be profitable even if you were a shitter.

Cool environment and terrain isn't going to get people to stay in the Wilderness. Jagex's approach to get more people into the wildy has been to add PvM content to it, which has been met with massive backlash because PvMers feel like they're just being used as easy prey for pkers. Exploits like skulltricking and massive teams of pkers being able to repeatedly tag a person and spam special attacks in single combat areas discourage people from entering the wilderness.

Those are the main issues that need to be fixed if Jagex wants to get more people to engage in pking, which is very important for the economy; as you can see on this website, most OSRS account sales/services are related to pking accounts. Compare that to the dismal state of the RS3 account market, where most accounts being sold are polypore stakers or mains sold by people leaving the game.

 

Good, fuck the vennies. They shouldn't be making money on the game for their income.

There are more players now than in 2018, so I guess the game isn't dying that fast give it time and let it recover. Runefest is comming so more content will be or has been created will be announced so we will see what comes out of that.

I dont think it is gonna die in 10 years for example at this moment while im writing this there is 100k rs3 player and 80k 07 and player and it is not even weekend day or peak hour day .

it will not die , the game since 2000 and something released , and people keep coming and join it.
i believe the game have another 15-20 years easly !
