3. It already has. Runescape WAS a rs based community, but now it has UE, a graphics section, a programming section etc. Alot of Sythe members (including my self) have no interest in Runescape what so ever. It's a kids game.

If someone's willing to cheat on rs, chances are there willing to cheat on sythe.

I.P ban is a dumb idea, they can just use proxies.

Prevention is better than cure IMO,If you can catch the scammer before they scam then you won't have lost your pixels.

People need to be more responsible and be more aware that scamming is only getting worse.

If you dont want to get scammed use an OFFICIAL MM, or just dont trade at all.

it no good bitching you got scammed when its your fault for not researching who your trading with, theres a search button for a reason...

An IP Ban would help. Simply because then they would have to try and call their ISP to change, or just get a proxy. But, that would be a lot of trouble to go through just be be on sythe.

Anyways, I think the community, as in all the world, has dropped due to LAZINESS!

People in the world rely on everyone else too much. Sure, this site is up for selling stuff, and contributing to others, but in order for someone to make a big profit, they have to scam someone who spent months / years to build that character.

Basically, the sythe.org community is turning into another part of the real world. When we wake up, we are just in reality again. But on sythe, we should basically all get together, simply because none of us know each other really, and we can't judge what we don't know.

The banned list is insanely growing. And it's just cause people are lazy...

The only thing I see that has changed about sythe is that more people are complaining about it.

Seriosly if we can fix something on sythe let's do it. If we can't complaining won't make it better.

 

You think people haven't tried? Anyone who actually has tried to change Sythe has either given up, or been banned in the process.

 

well, draggin pure was banned for having an old account that another member found and reported him about, and he was one of the most legit people i know.

I can only imagine what this site was like when it was actually good. Fun people, decent Mods and Admins, lots of legit trades... I wish I could have been there for that.

Now Sythe has fallen. It makes me sick looking at the contents of a common thread. People spamming, calling names, holding grudges, getting banned, scamming, hating... Gah. This is why so many people are leaving.

 

Some people don't care about runescape anymore, so they think "I couldn't care less if i was banned on Sythe or not, I mean I don't even play runescape anymore." So they try and scam people and If that doesn't work out they have nothing to lose.

 

Well it takes a lot of proof to ban someone, and you can't use chatlogs either, say you buy an account, set recoveries and you've been giving all the information, then 5 days later (after putting 10m on the account and doing some powerlevelling) the account is recovered, the scammer gets away with 10m rsgp, free 25 days membership and some nice new levels.

After three days have passed, how can people prove it? I think we should lower the amount of 'proof' you need to ban someone, and start coming down hard on scammers. I, myself, have been scammed 3 times, every time, the scammer has got away with it. It's beyond a joke, why would someone lie about it? People should also use the search feature for any 'report a scammer' threads, you sometimes see that people who want to deal with you have previous accusations.

 

Yea, then there are dicks like me who wont go away after being banned by a now demodded mod.

Good thing I'm not here for the market, things are less stressful. Members are going to argue, some call it debating. Whether its intelligent or not.

I understand I haven't been here too long, but I'm pretty sure scamming has, and always will be a problem.

Other than that, theres always noobs, almost everyone was a noob at some point. Not much you can do about that, except maybe instead of being a complete asshole, you could try and help them by giving advice, tips, etc.
