Gaming PC or Laptop?

Which one do you guys prefer, and why?

 

PC multiple screens set up nicely, i guess if i was on the move alot though id buy a gaming laptop also price is probably a lot cheaper for a decent operating pc over a laptop

i prefer laptop honestly , since i can take it with me everywhere!

They both have advantages.

Lots of nice desk room and multiple big screens with desktop.

Mobility with laptop. (I like to lay in bed and play)

Okay so since nobody said it yet I figure I'll say it.

Desktops = You can change the hardware

Laptop = Most components aren't upgradable since everything is soldered to the motherboard. Some components are still upgradable with a laptop, but definitely not things like graphic cards, etc.

 

My preference is gaming laptop.

Pros :-

Portability and space consumption - This is the biggest point of my preference for a gaming laptop. If you like to play games on the move , prefer a gaming laptop. It will also consume lesser space as compared to PC. If your house is small it should be the preferred option. Also you can use it in college and office. You will not have to keep gaming PC and laptop separately. Nowadays gaming laptops are also getting lighter in weight. You can get a gaming laptop at around 2 - 2.7 kg at a low price with cooling fans in it.
Multi-usage - In fact if you connect gaming laptop to TV and buy gaming controller you can get an xbox like experience. You can connect the laptop to TV to watch movies or anything as well.
Cons :-

Performance :- The performance of gaming laptop components at same configuration as of gaming PC is slightly lower because laptop components are smaller in size and are less powerful as compared to PC components. So, if are a professional gamer , gaming PC would be better for those. Casual gamer’s who don't like to play multiplayer games like PUBG, CS, etc and like to play GTA, Call of Duty, etc. casually can opt for gaming laptop.
Upgrade - This is the biggest difference between gaming PC and gaming laptop. You cannot upgrade your main components like processor, motherboard and graphic card in a gaming laptop. Only RAM and storage upgrade is available that too on certain models. So, if you like to upgrade your components within 2–3 years, then prefer gaming PC.
Low screen size and refresh rates - A budget gaming laptop would give you a 15.6 inch screen size and mostly at 60 Hz refresh rate.This might matter to those who play competitive games like CS, PUBG since every millisecond matters for them and refresh rate becomes a major point for them. So, gaming PC would be preferable for them.
Battery - If gaming laptop manufacturers reduce the weight of a laptop then the battery life of those laptop will also be lesser.If your usage is lighter like internet surfing checking mails,making ppts then during that time you will get around 3 – 7 hrs depending on laptop.When you play heavy games that use GPU and other components extensively,then your usage time will 1 - 3 hrs. So, even while gaming you might have to keep your laptop connected to charger. This is a major issue especially with light weight budget gaming laptop.
Pricing - Price difference between a gaming PC and gaming laptop is very much.Gaming laptops are very expensive as compared to gaming PC build.

 

If you wanna go for high performance you need to get a PC, dont even need to think about
If you travel or are moving a lot, or if you don't have much space you should consider a notebook

 

Laptops are ass for gaming. Seriously, get a desktop PC and enjoy the hell out or it. Thermal throttling is never going to be an issue.

 

Desktops are way more customizable and easier to upgrade than a laptop. Also multiple monitors as mentioned above. One more thing many dont consider and I might just be weird but I angle my keyboad when gaming to make using WASD more comfortable, with laptop you lose that

 

Desktop all the way

 

Desktops are made for gaming and can be kept for so much longer, plus you can easily upgrade a desktop. Laptop is way more expensive for lower performance

 

honestly depends on your situation, I had to use a laptop alot because i was travelling. But if youre situated in just one place ideally a desktop is better

 

Desktop over a laptop anytime. Unless you plan to travel alot.

 

Laptops for me to be honest i like to play osrs everywhere, mobile doesnt count
