Murderers with the intention of preventing the intensification of nationalist campaigns. Nationalists attacked many Unionists during their fierce marches, specifically the one on Londonderry. They were violent in their methods, and the Loyalists had every reason to defend themselves from these brutes. I mean, the ''provisional IRA'' had just made its entrance - a vile gang of nothing more than malicious murderers. Simply violent men with no real justification for what they were doing - just their own bloodthirst.

The agreement was made - Northern Ireland was formed. It was the fairest possible compromise: two parties with opposing ideologies were making demands. What on Earth could be fairer than giving half to one party and the other to the other?
