What's happened to it? It's rare I see a thread without at least 1 banned member in it.. I'd dread to think how big the ban list is!
There's lots more (bad) attempts of scamming, there's argueing, there's people who get banned who dispute it and just say 'lolol you all fail'... Lots of ex admins were banned, lots of MM's banned for scamming... seriously, what happened?

 

Well the the "goal" of being on sythe switched from contributing the community, maintaining a legit market, and working together to provide bots for runescape to just trying to gain enough trust to become staff and/or scam.

Even though we are working to trying to avoid this from happening, its really all about getting the community to work together.

 

I think every body that gets banned for scamming should be IP banned in all, it'd fix the problem of most ban evaders..

 

It doesen't fix the problem of the amount of people getting banned though. Or the source of the problem, people doing stuff to GET banned.

 

Well at some level its the communities fault for numerous scamming. For example you get people who get scammed regulaly even by trusted members and they just leave it there. If that person bothers to spend just 5-10 minutes taking pictures of the convo etc.. that could prevent alot of further scamming.
Basically if it continues this way it would just be a cycle of people getting scammed banned etc..

It's almost like I said that in the IRC or something...

 

Because the changes that were made discouraged most of the people here, so they left. New people come in, and make it shit by giving Sythe a bad name. By giving Sythe a shit name, people don't mind scamming as much, hence the BANNED signs all over the place. Eventually they just get sick of the place and troll and flame until they get banned, then go off to some fun place.

 

A simple thing to do would be to change the goals for a certain period of time.
This is not really a Viable option but it would help the problem greatly.

Yup, I even saw a thread with almost all members banned. Its pretty pathetic :/

 

This exact topic has been discussed for years and making a thread about it does nothing to help solve it. My advice is, "be the change you wish to see in the world." The only thing a thread like this does is create more turmoil, and I assure you, this site needs no more, nor does it deserve it. As a previous member of the staff, I can attest to the fact that we have, and most certainly will continue to seek ways to placate this problem. However, it is truly up to the members on whether or not these difficulties will ever be put to rest. It is up to you, the member, to become a constructive member of this site, and by your example and encouragement, perhaps others will follow your lead.

 

I was wondering the same thing, I came back after like 6 months to see this. Bad part is that alot of guru's have been banned I remember a year ago only leechers were forum addicts were banned at max and I usually never saw any banned people on threads, but a lot of things are changing.

 

It's their own faults really.

Read the rules, and follow them, and you won't get banned.

 

Lately people realize well, since I can cheat on RuneScape, why can't I cheat to, essentially, cheat. People try to cheat out the people that cheat on RuneScape. People in the community are getting banned because they are being irresponsible.

anyway the problem is that people can still aspire to be staff. on cms there wasn't a 300-man staff list that changed all the time, the only way to be noticed was to be helpful and hope others would enjoy your input.

 

surely some the people dese3rve to be unbanned for scamming maybe they have changed there ways or be willing to pay them back or suming? i think that people all deserve a second chance but not recent scammers tho . like 1 year plus b4 they can come back .
