    Trade Transaction Section

This suggestion is to help scammed people have enough evidence to report someone if they scam, so that way the scammer gets banned quicker, and before scamming too many people. Continue reading.

A "Trade Transaction" Section would be a place where people can post what their trade is, and where both users can confirm the deal, and their MSN, PayPal, etc. before the trade occurs.

As the trade takes effect, both users can record data on there and ask eachother to confirm, that way the other person can not deny something. Posts will be un-editable in this section.

Once the trade is complete, both users can post screenies of their IM's and everything else important. This way everything will be kept in a safe archive in case the scammer decides to charge back, let's say 2 weeks after the trade.

In the report a scammer forums this can be used as a quick link of evidence.

[EDIT1] This will NOT add to your post count.
[EDOT2] This is NOT required. Only if a person wants to.

Please post your comments on this.
Sorry if this has been previously posted or it sucks.

Actually I think that is a good suggestion, but it may have a flaw in it somewhere.

    I support.

i support, seems like a very good idea, it would ensure that the people who go first have less chance of getting scammed and if they do get scammed the other person has a high chance of getting banned.

    Thanks, thanks, thanks and thanks.

I'm sure it will have flaws, but if this gets approved then I'm sure the admins can work it out.

I don't support, since we can do all this in the original sales thread so a new section and hundreds more of possibly useless threads aren't needed.

I understand that but this would be more organized, and since posts are un-editable it would be safer, and plus when reporting, all the evidence would be right there without digging around in the original post. Thanks for your comment.

When the scammed user provides MSN chat logs, you can match the time & date with the edited time & date which is provided right at the bottom of the post (after the signature) when certain posts are edited (eg. ones in the black market).

It would be obvious for someone to know if someone edited their post after they scammed - and the admins, if they wanted to, could prevent people from editing their post in the market, but they haven't.

This new section would merely be a new way of vouching.

I never said anything about vouching? This would be purely used to provide SOLID evidence instead of "well, it's obvious" or "maybe..." and it would organize it a lot better.

Again, this would be more like an "archive". Kind of like a trade record.

[EDIT] Well how would you prove it was their MSN? What if THEY added you and never posted their MSN? They are never really required to confirm it and if they do they can just edit it out a few minutes later to maybe "apple1.com" instead of "apple2.com" and accuse you of creating a fake MSN just to ruin their reputation. A person would never notice a small difference like that until after they really care.

[EDIT2] The thing with many people is, they don't bother to care so much about evidence until after they are scammed. This archive would help them have the evidence lying there instead of having to gather it, when sometimes they don't even have any.

The section would not require a user to post in it - so if they didn't post it in the sales thread, why post up a new thread and say it in that? If they want the user to post their MSN, they'd just ask them to put it in the thread & if they're so worried they might edit it they can take a screenshot of it which will take only a few seconds.

The thread is of the trade transaction, and not just simple message in the sales thread like "add my msn blah blah blah ill buy". I'm sure many people would make use of this. Yes, they can, but the whole point of this section is to keyword: ORGANIZE everything. Sure, they can have him say his MSN in a PM and take pictures and upload some to imageshack, keep some on their computer. Have them confirm it on MSN and take pictures and put it on the sales thread, but that's messy and less safe.

I understand your point; you're saying it is unnecessary.
It is, but it will be helpful.
Why are you so against it? You said it would be another excuse to vouch? What do you mean by that? Or did you say place? I can't fully remember. People will not gain post count so what's the big deal? It's just an archive and it's not like people care what page it is on or if it's covered with 500 pages of spam, it's just an archive that you can keep the link to for future reference or for reporting scammers.

Let's just stop the argument at this point because I find it endless. I respect your opinion.

Yeahh i do support this, but it would just be loads extra work.
Say if someone's just buying a quick mil to buy something then they realise they have to go through all of that to make sure they don't get accused of being a scammer.

Making people do this would come in as somewhat an invasion of privacy. No.

Sythe.org is not really responsible for logging and keeping all of that information. If a scam results from a trade, and people have taken proper screenshots/logs, they can file a scammer report.

All these trade transaction threads would be is a log of what's happening on MSN... People should be taking MSN screenshots. So, if they're scammed they can post a report.
