Is the RWT market dieing? After 60,000+ people quit

    Hello,

Starting off, Runescape is a game thats very individual, unlike any other. It's a game full of the worst customer support available, very bad glitches, medoicre graphics and among all a dieing game due to the company.

I got lucky, I bought 16m in 2005, well before the RWT updates. I managed to get myself 91 RC easily, which set me for my RS life. Since I havn't had to buy gold again, except for after the RWT updates when I needed money on my pures. However for my main, never needed to RWT after.

It's been almost 1 year since what I see as the "Death" of Runescape. Runescape feals like a new game alltogether, it's just not what it was. I'm sure if you check out this video I found, it summed up what Runescape was before the update, but more interestingly the "60,000 player loss" for jagex during the video, in which the video maker even provided a link to a British newspaper stateing the "60,000 member loss" - and that was only a month after the updates.

Let's say, a good 50%+ of them, would be RWT'ers. They new they where, buggered tbh. No more easy trades with a trusted seller, they would have to resort to waiting ages, needing alot more trust and alot more skill to RWT. Only people such as R2P could be trusted for this, and to my record, he is only 1 of a very few GP Sellers still going.

I am perfectly aware RWT will always exist in RS, and any game alike. Theres no way out, but certainlly what I'm interested in is what has happend since? Does anyone have any demographics for what the effect has been? Has the number of trades decreased dramatically? Did Jagex's ruining of the game, only leaving skillers such as myself playing work to most of it's extent and purpose (it didn't wipe it all away..).

runescape is more alive and roaring than it has ever been. those 60,000+ were just lvl 3 bots.

The information you cited is a year old, assuming, even, that 60,000 people did quit, they've more than made up for that since then. This topic is irrelevant now.

Well, I would disagree. Why is the maxium online about 60,000 during afternoons, and 130,000 at peak, when it was hundreds of thousends more before..?

Are you blind Rare Names? Thats what I just did, it doesn't even take a burk to realise before the RWT updates, there was 250k+ at peak times playing, now theres what, 130k? It doesn't need evidence, it's easily seen from people who know a small fraction of the games history from Summer 07 to Winter 08..
